From an internationally acclaimed economist, a provocative call to jump-start economic growth by aggressively overhauling liberal democracy. informative
Revisado: 12-16-21
I enjoyed the book. It was well-structured and clearly defined the problems faced by this countryand the entire planet. While I couldn't agree with all the proposed solutions, I appreciate the courage and thoughtfulness required to propose the solutions. It was a great initial step in starting the conversations in which we must ultimately engage.

Appreciated the presentation. The author made it easier to connect with the subject matter by enabling the hearer to connect with the people who were impacted by Geology and those trying to understand it. I think that I learned more than I realized by the way the presentation was structured. It was important to remember that I was listening to 25 different stories that are not sequential in time, but overlapping.

Historia
The Addictive Brain is a fair and balanced investigation of addiction, backed by hard science and behavioral science. Most of us have probably seen the old antidrug commercial in which an actor compares your brain on drugs to an egg sizzling in a hot frying pan. That's a powerful image, but it doesn't tell us what actually happens when drugs enter your body and interact with neurochemical processes.

Revisado: 12-03-21
Loved it. It was a powerful, balanced, and eye-opening book that really makes me think about factors that contribute to why and how people are motivated to do the things we do. I like the non-judgmental presentation of information and the inclusion of possible strategies that could be explored to help change how a person thinks and acts.

I enjoyed this book. I have been listening to books involving chemistry, and I hoped that this book and two others from the same author would help me understand fundamentals that would help me better process information concerning chemistry. I think this book has been very helpful towards this end. I have written a about a page of notes to summarize the main point. I will listen to this book again this week after I listen to another book by this author. The question and answer method is very helpful in the learning process. Thanks!

Through Euclid's Window Leonard Mlodinow brilliantly and delightfully leads us on a journey through five revolutions in geometry, from the Greek concept of parallel lines to the latest notions of hyperspace. Here is an altogether new, refreshing, alternative history of math revealing how simple questions anyone might ask about space -- in the living room or in some other galaxy -- have been the hidden engine of the highest achievements in science and technology.

Provides structure for understanding math
Revisado: 10-13-21
Loved it. I have always enjoyed math, but I have a much greater appreciation for it now that I understand the back stories involved in its discovery. I like the way the author uses simple analogies to explain technical concepts. The book provided a means to structure certain math concepts in my head and encourages me to find structure for other match and science ideas.
