Historia
Young Tom French was found dead, lying in a marsh on the Norfolk coast, with his head bashed in and his binoculars still around his neck. One of the best birders in England, Tom had put the village of Rushy on the birdwatching map. Everyone liked him. Or did they? George Palmer-Jones, an elderly birdwatcher who decided quietly to look into the brutal crime, discovered mixed feelings aplenty. Still, he remained baffled by a deed that could have been motivated by thwarted love, pure envy, or something else altogether.

Ann Cleevez before Vera
Revisado: 04-13-25
I like the husband and wife pair of George and Molly. I was just really like Annin Cleeves and after I had read all of her more recent ones , I went back. These were the first books she wrote and even on the second listen I totally got wrong who did it ,which I like. Her books are very atmospheric.

Where it gets dark
Revisado: 03-21-25
I love the HP series & Jim Dale as a narrator, but this book is where the series becomes more Y A & less for kids! I procrastinated listening to the ending, even though I’ve read or & listened before, because it’s so intense. I love how Rowling fits all the pieces of the puzzle into place.

Wonderful, wonderfully done
Revisado: 03-08-25
I am a Janeite and very particular about extensions of her and her work. This is so beautifully done , based on so many historical facts and just the imagination and creativity is impressive. as always Juliet Stevenson is the best narrator. She doesn’t just read the book , she performs it.

Good information, but I wish there was more we could do about preventing it. By the way Chick-fil-A still uses Styrofoam and other fast food places as well.

I enjoyed this sequel to the Thursday murder club. I love the characters and the humor. The plot gets to be a little hard to believe, but you just have to go with it.

Historia
Twelve-year-old Sophie has never quite fit into her life. She’s skipped multiple grades and doesn’t really connect with the older kids at school, but she’s not comfortable with her family, either. The reason? Sophie’s a Telepath, someone who can read minds. No one knows her secret - at least, that’s what she thinks.... But the day Sophie meets Fitz, a mysterious (and adorable) boy, she learns she’s not alone. He’s a Telepath too, and it turns out the reason she has never felt at home is that, well...she isn’t. Fitz opens Sophie’s eyes to a shocking truth....

Interesting fantasy series
Revisado: 05-04-24
I like the story, but there are a lot of elements that sound like they were borrowed from Harry Potter to be quite honest. It’s a good fantasy series, but not as well written as Harry Potter.

Historia
When editor Susan Ryeland is given the manuscript of Alan Conway's latest novel, she has no reason to think it will be much different from any of his others. After working with the best-selling crime writer for years, she's intimately familiar with his detective, Atticus Pünd, who solves mysteries disturbing sleepy English villages. An homage to queens of classic British crime such as Agatha Christie and Dorothy Sayers, Alan's traditional formula has proved hugely successful.

For an instant the two trains ran together, side by side. In that frozen moment, Elspeth witnessed a murder. Helplessly, she stared out of her carriage window as a man remorselessly tightened his grip around a woman's throat. The body crumpled. Then the other train drew away. But who, apart from Miss Marple, would take her story seriously? After all, there were no suspects, no other witnesses...and no corpse. This title was previously published as What Mrs. McGrillicuddy Saw!

I love the character of Lucy Eylesboro in the story. Amelia fox does an excellent job. I believe her mother played Emma Crackenthorpe in the Joan Hickson television presentation of the story.

Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry's eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. An incredible adventure is about to begin!
