Historia
Megan Harwood never wanted to be a hero. She just wanted to indulge the two great loves of her life, woodworking and music, and for the last few years, she's done just that, running a small guitar making business in Sun City, Florida, with her dad's help. But when Megan refuses to sell her shop, she ends up on the hit list of the Unitarium, an organized crime syndicate made of up supervillains and their minions.

Another rich entry in an outstanding superhero universe!
Revisado: 03-26-25
Another great entry in a series that features such rich world building and a cast of unique characters. The LGBTQ representation in these book is amazing and I love how the author has attacked some of the issues she has seemed to side-step in previous installments around the relationship between the Community and government, especially police and police-adjacent entities. I’m excited to see where this world goes after the events of this book!!

We recently discovered the AMC TV series based on this book and it’s sequels, and wanted to spend more time in Diana’s world. This book didn’t disappoint. Can’t wait to read the next one!

A Disappointing Conclusion
Revisado: 08-20-19
When I read the summary, and found out this was the last novel of the Change series, I had a feeling I would be disappointed, and I was. To not get any glimpse of the far-future of this universe was truly frustrating. More so, even, than the Island in the Sea of Time series conclusion. You could tell that the author was just “done” with this story and just wanted it over with.

Historia
Zack Lightman has never much cared for reality. He vastly prefers the countless science-fiction movies, books, and videogames he's spent his life consuming. And too often, he catches himself wishing that some fantastic, impossible, world-altering event could arrive to whisk him off on a grand spacefaring adventure.

Interesting, but Not in the Same League as Ready Player One
Revisado: 07-19-15
Interesting, if thin, premise, but where it really fell apart for me was the characters. Zach was the only character I could engage with, while the, likely, most interesting character, Lex, was sidelined, only permitted into the plot as either love interest or plot device. Disappointing.

Solid Outing, But Missing Something
Revisado: 05-18-15
A solid and entertaining outing, but missing something, compared to most of the entries in this series. Some great character moments, but it felt like we were just biding our time until we can address one of the major through plots of the last few books (all the more urgent after the tragedy in this books' b-plot).

Historia
When an unknown someone shoots him and leaves him to die, Harry Dresden hopes he might be heading to a better place. Unfortunately being dead doesn't make Harry's life any easier. Trapped between life and death, he learns that his friends are in serious trouble. Only by finding his murderer can he save his friends and move on - a feat that would be a lot easier if he had a body and access to his powers. Worse still are the malevolent shadows that roam Chicago, controlled by a dark entity that wants Harry to suffer even in death.

Glad For the Re-recording!
Revisado: 05-02-15
Glad for them releasing a Marsden-narrated version of this book, but wish they'd paid a bit more attention to the production values. The recording quality seems a bit sub-par when compared to other recent books in the series.

Inspiring and Depressing at the Same Time

An intriguing look at the changes afoot in the knowledge economy, and what it might mean for startup and big-business culture going to forward. At the same time, it's depressing that we aren't there, yet, and may not be in my productive lifetime, if I don't change career paths.

Historia
At the end of Shadow of the Giant, Bean flees to the stars with three of his children—the three who share the engineered genes that gave him both hyper-intelligence and a short, cruel physical life. The time dilation granted by the speed of their travel gives Earth's scientists generations to seek a cure, to no avail. In time, they are forgotten—a fading ansible signal speaking of events lost to Earth's history. But the Delphikis are about to make a discovery that will let them save themselves, and perhaps all of humanity in days to come.

Long Time Coming, Somewhat of a Letdown
Revisado: 02-13-12
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
If you're a fan of the Shadow books, then this is something you've been waiting for for a while. Unfortunately, it's a bit of a letdown in that department. It's a good part 1, but I was expecting more.
What was most disappointing about Orson Scott Card’s story?
I'd say the most disappointing thing about this story was how short it was and how the only truly significant event was an entirely foreseeable character death. I was also disappointed in Card's lack of attention to continuity, though I'm probably one of the few who would catch the error(s), given how many times I've listened to Ender's Shadow.
What about the narrators’s performance did you like?
The narrators of this story (as with all of Card's books) were stupendous.
