Historia
The Kincaid family doesn’t have much, but they pride themselves on having each other. Always close, Emory Kincaid’s children have a friendship in addition to their siblingship—especially his twins, Rowan and Jameson. However, the summer that Ro and Jamie turn eighteen creates a rift in their relationship that impacts the entire family. As time passes, the distance between Jameson and his family intensifies. Physically, the young man is right there in front of them… but his troubled thoughts keep him distant.

Love the Kincaids
Revisado: 08-29-24
The Kincaid family is so warm, loving, and funny. I couldn’t pick a favorite character, because they are all so vividly written. Even the side characters come alive and walk right off the page. Even Sailor! This was such a “cozy” read and I really loved settling in every evening and listening to the stellar narration. I hope Hannah Rae brings us back to this family in the future.

Historia
As a park ranger with the National Park Service's law enforcement team, Andrea Lankford led search and rescue missions in some of the most beautiful (and dangerous) landscapes across America, from Yosemite to the Grand Canyon. But though she had the support of the agency, Andrea grew frustrated with the service's bureaucratic idiosyncrasies, and left the force after twelve years. Two decades later, however, she stumbles across a mystery that pulls her right back where she left off: three young men have vanished from the Pacific Crest Trail.

Slow pace, big ego
Revisado: 10-22-23
I was disappointed in this book after hearing about it on NPAD podcast. It plods along at a desperately slow pace, and is more about the author and her friend than the victims’ stories and families. I also felt the author was quite self-congratulatory and/or wanted to be a martyr, which put me off.

Lydia Franklin is starting middle school and is experiencing the choppy waves of friendship. Having spent her childhood along the banks of Lake Caywood, splashing and palling around with Sam Finley, she now wants to steer clear of the boy she once called a friend. The reason for this, however, is a mystery even to her.

Magical in Multiple Ways!
Revisado: 10-01-23
This is such a great combination of writing and vocal performance. It really takes you away to a magical place and plops you right into Lake Caywood for a fascinating tale. You get really attached to the well developed characters, and the narrator radiates such warmth. One listen won’t be enough!
