Historia
The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des Rêves, and it is only open at night. But behind the scenes, a fierce competition is underway - a duel between two young magicians, Celia and Marco, who have been trained since childhood expressly for this purpose by their mercurial instructors.

Nothing ever seems to happen
Revisado: 01-03-16
The narration was wonderful But the story is so full of descriptions...I felt like I was having the author describe paint dry over and over. OK, in reality, it was food and dresses and oh another circus tent. Some of it was fun, but then I wanted something to actually happen. If it weren't for the narrator I would have quit and skipped to the end about half way through.

Couldn't finish it
Revisado: 09-29-13
I just got bored. The story was she gets jealous (old tired storyline!) Things happen but don't really draw you in. It just felt like going around a round a bout with no direction.

Historia
You couldn't really tell about Mama's brain just from looking at her, but it was obvious as soon as she spoke. She had a high voice, like a little girl's, and she only knew 23 words. I know this for a fact, because we kept a list of the things Mama said tacked to the inside of the kitchen cabinet. Most of the words were common ones, like good and more and hot, but there was one word only my mother said, soof.

Worthwhile
Revisado: 07-05-13
Would you listen to The Storyteller again? Why?
No, I enjoyed it, but I rarely reread books. This one isn't uplifting or funny, so it doesn't need a second visit
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
The details of what the concentration camps were like were fascinating.
Which character – as performed by the narrators – was your favorite?
I loved the mixture of the narrators. That kept me interested in the book
Any additional comments?
It's a good book, it's not uplifting and I didn't agree with the main characters actions. In some ways, it took me a while to get her and I'm not sure I ever really embraced her. I actually could "get" the other characters better for what ever reason. It's well written and interesting but it did get long.
