Real Love and Real Life Problems

There are so many words and feelings wrapped around this book, but the one that comes to mind is REAL. The vast majority of books in this genre are based around happy endings, women being swept off their feet and hot alpha males, all with a few messes thrown in. This book, however, is real. It faces real life problems and is filled with real life emotions. Here's the naked truth this book will make you laugh, cry, swoon, and much more. You will fall in love with every character and want them to have that happily ever after. Real life doesn't work that way though. Read it you won't regret it.

I follow Colleen Hoover on social media, seeing as she is one of my favorite authors. When she announced this book she said that it was one of the most personal books she's ever written and the letter to the readers at the end expresses just that. I want to thank her for this book. It brings light to something most people judge without really knowing what's going on. I grew up in a household with domestic violence and it truly shapes a person. It can be a cycle and this book is about the struggle to break it. I am profoundly grateful for this book and its message. It is beautifully written and I think everyone should read it at least once. Colleen is an amazing author and truly gifted. Thank you for sharing something so personal to you, I'm sure it wasn't easy.

Entertaining and Fun

I'm a firm believer in ratings should reflect the genre and overall experience when listening to a book. People pick chick flick mysteries and expect serious stories, dumb. This story is fun, sweet, calamity Jane in heels story. I honestly thought I knew the murderer, but was wrong. It wasn't heavy on romance, but maybe further into the series will pick up.

Narration was good, but I hated the Russian voices and not the best male voices. Still a solid narrative.

I'd recommend this if your in the mood for a fun entertaining mystery.

Not Warned ... So Here's Yours

Let me start off by saying this I love a steamy hot romance novel, this just isn't one I'd go for. This book revolves around the struggles of one Dr. Vincent. Due to the nature of his demons this book is mostly a threes omega? Kinda foursome? It's kinky and hot and French, but make sure you know what your getting into. Again not my cup of tea. The narrators are amazing and work seamlessly together. The story dragged and doesn't have a whole lot of substance other than she wants to fix him and he doesn't think he can be fixed.

Quirky and Fun Read

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, but not to everyone. This book is a fun cozy mystery. There is a bit of a Romance mixed in, but its EXTREMELY slow moving like slug paced. If you are looking for a mystery with a lot of romance this isn't the one for you. This book is a great mystery and you get to watch Mattie grow into her own self throughout the series. She is one who falls into the silly mishaps, but that's what makes it a fun read.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the characters. Mattie is someone I related to and felt like she represented the average person. There are quirky characters, but they feel real. Hurley reminds me a lot of my husband who is also in law enforcement. Izzy is a great friend and not the typical sidekick in cozy mysteries. I love the animals and Mattie's love for them.

What does Jorjeana Marie bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

At first I wasn't sure about her, but I grew to love her characterization quickly. She did wonderful with all the characters and the pace in her performance.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I really enjoyed this book and was drawn into this book. I laughed at Mattie's antics and felt for her struggles. This is a story you get wrapped in and want to live in their world....except I could do without the autopsy part.

Any additional comments?

I would highly recommend this book to any fans of cozy mysteries and to anyone wanting to give that genre a try. I'm converted from romance genre and have fallen in love. Again this series is very limited in the romance part, but such a great mystery. Definitely worth the credit.

Lovely Twist with Hollywood Flare

Would you listen to Lowcountry Bombshell again? Why?

Absolutely, I probably will again before I start the 4th installment

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes, I couldn't predict who the killer was and how everything fit together

What about Loretta Rawlings’s performance did you like?

She does a wonderful job with all the character voices and has a nice pace. There's no annoying swallowing sounds or anything like that. She really brings the book to life.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Hmmmm...... stopping history repeating?

Such a fun twist having the story parallel Marilyn Monroe's life. Lots of great detail and research went into this book and that's really what made the story. Great growth with main characters and interesting new ones brought in. I loved this book!

A Sweet Southern Mystery

Liz comes home after her grandmother is murdered. She uses her private investigation skills to solve a crime close to home. She is a strong female lead and isn't clutzy and silly like other cozy mystery type stories.

There is great character development and you really get a sense of the town. There's some fun characters and lots of southern charm. There twists and turns and the killer is not one I predicted.

Such a Unique Storyline!

Where does Welcome to Paradise rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I love romance novels and a lot of them struggle to have a completely unique storyline. This was so refreshing and so wonderful. It's definitely one of my favorites. I also love the tv show Survivor so it gave me a bit of that mixed in.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Mira because she really finds herself through the show and she finds her strength. I really love characters I can relate to.

Which scene was your favorite?

Trying to pick one without giving anything away, but I'd say the dance was one of them and the different challenges.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes and I have a reread it a couple of times.

Any additional comments?

A reality TV show sends couples back to the pioneer days and force them to live like they did. Twists and turns of reality TV and a mix of romance and self discovery make for a wonderful time. I highly recommend!

Sweet Cowboy Romance in a Fun Setting

What did you love best about Kiss Me?

I love the setting of being on a cattle drive. It took a nice spin on a cowboy romance story. I grew up around horses and with cowboys so they have a tender place in my heart too.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Phoebe has such a caring heart, with a little spunk, and quirk thrown in. Talking to the animals made me smile.

Which scene was your favorite?

Sooo many to pick from probably when she gets caught talking to the bull.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes and I have on more than one occasion. Whenever I need a simply, sweet, and feel good read it's one of my go to books. It's one of my go to cowboy books too. ;-)

Any additional comments?

Let me start out by saying I'm a hopeless romantic and adore a sweet love story. If you are wanting a complex plot and serious angst this isn't the story for you. Second this is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone.

There is excitement and quirky characters to keep your interest. There's great character development and reoccurring characters to fit with the series. It's my favorite Fool's Gold book I've read so far. I highly recommend it.
