I love Woodward and his sterling career and dedication. But I have mixed feelings about this book which I found repetitive and one-note and oddly missing anything I hadn’t already heard from The Trump Show. I’m puzzled about his intentions and even whether he planned the book as a backhand compliment to Trump’s resilience.

This has got to be one of the best stories I've read in years about the power of stories, storytelling, and reading. No movie could do justice to it. You've just got to read it!

What a wonderful retelling of the classic, but from Hook's point of view. It turns out Peter Pan isn't all he was cracked up to be. Riveting, brilliant, not to be put down!

What an absolute delight to meet an author with such an easily involving style and nostalgic depth of human perception. I feel that I already know much about NAples and can't wait to read another by her.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely. It's gripping and insightful, and hilarious.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Primates of Park Avenue?

When a new UES (Upper East Side mom can't get any of the other moms to say hello to her as she delivers her kid to preschool.

Have you listened to any of Madeleine Maby’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Laugh a lot.

Any additional comments?

As someone who lives in the neighborhood off and on, I found the field-description of the UES absolutely accurate and riveting, and recommend it to anyone who's curious about it.

What did you love best about Leonardo's Brain?

I loved how the author dissected the brain of our greatest genius without going near it, just from its works and statements.

What other book might you compare Leonardo's Brain to and why?

Stephen Hawking's A BRIEF HISTORY OF TIME, though this book is more accessible.

Have you listened to any of Grover Gardner’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

NO.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. Actually i wanted to (and did) listen to several chapters more than once.

Any additional comments?

Anyone interested in humanity's relationship with the universe should hear this book!

What made the experience of listening to The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up the most enjoyable?

The narrator's voice was the perfect embodiment of the tidy advice we were hearing.

What other book might you compare The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up to and why?

The Spiritual Exercises of Ignatius Loyola.

Have you listened to any of Emily Woo Zeller’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me feel good.

Any additional comments?

Everyone should read this book to put in perspective his relationship with "things." "Things," wrote Emerson, "are in the saddle and ride mankind." But not if you're adopted the perspective offered by this book!

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I would change when I read/heard it. It'd have been better during the Clinton years than it now seems.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I would have made the candidates' shennanigans even more outrageous.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Peter Francis James?

Someone whose voice had more narrative authority.

Could you see Primary Colors being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

I think this has happened already.

Any additional comments?

A compelling, but not surprising, glimpse behind the scenes in a Presidential campaign.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Girl on the Train to be better than the print version?

I haven't read the print version so I can't comment.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

It kept me engrossed, though not on the edge of my seat.

Which scene was your favorite?

The final scene.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Rachel trying to justify her alcoholism.

Any additional comments?

Hugely imaginative story about the intricate relationships among random people.

What did you love best about Means of Ascent?

I liked the sheer honesty of it, the detailed integrity of the reporting, and the courage to follow heroic tangents like the extensive, reverential treatment of Coke R. Stevenson, Johnson's opponent the notorious 1948 Senate race.

What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?

Without question, it's Mr. Caro's focus on completeness, of telling the whole story of this tragic flawed hero of American politics, warts and all--leading us to reexamine what it is exactly we want in a leader.

What about Grover Gardner’s performance did you like?

Its compelling authority and intelligent pacing.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Probably the moment when Johnson, in an interview with an antagonistic biographer, produced the photo of (Ballot) Box 13, that had "mysteriously disappeared"--almost as though he glorified in being a rogue.

Any additional comments?

Must read!
