Not a bad book, but I agree with those who were distracted by a middle-aged narrator voicing a 24-year-old character.

This is the first Audible book I've encountered with inferior audio quality. The narrator's voice is muffled, as though she's recording with a blanket over hear head. "S" sounds are especially sibilant and hissy. When music plays between stories, static can be heard. Voiceovers on top of the music cannot be understood. Really hard to listen to . Glad it's short.

I'm sure most authors don't think about how their books will sound on audio. I had a hard time getting into this book because it features 4 male characters, with chapters devoted to each character. The author almost always used "he" to refer to them, rarely using their names after the beginning-of-chapter mention. Thus, it was easy to lose track of which character was the focus of each chapter. I even gave up on the book at one point, but I'm glad I went back to it for its poignant, heartbreaking story.
