Not a Psychological thriller
Revisado: 06-24-19
*** I received a copy of the audible from the author for a honest review.
Overall, I enjoyed the book; however, I would give a two star for few reasons:
1. The title of the book mentions psychological thriller; however, the book reads like a cozy mystery with a twist in the end. In my opinion, a little twist in the end does not label the book as psychological thriller.
2. The narrator has a gentle, British voice that suits a cozy mystery genre but not a psychological thriller. If the genre was leaning towards mystery, I would have gladly given a rating of 3 stars.
3. The plot was interesting where it starts from searching for his biological mother to escaping the paradise island where his mother lives.

magical joy to read
Revisado: 05-31-19
** Received audiobook copy for a honest review.
The author introduces Caina Amala's fantasy adventure. It is magically graceful and vengeful.
"McLarian" the necromancer permanently damages her life when he drains her blood to create a blood crystal. The necromancer has plans to commit murder of multitude of slaves/people for immortality. Caina is saved by the Ghosts and trained as an assassin. She has a personal vendetta to kill the necromancer and a purpose to save the world she lives in.
The narrator does a phenomenal job in bringing the story to life!
The book is fast paced. The author does a great job in balancing the description of the fantasy world, details, and action. As a reader, I was not overwhelmed with unnecessary details. It was worth the read!

Good Story but it's too short
Revisado: 05-11-19
This book was engaging, interesting, descriptive, and fast paced, but I felt like the book was too short. I wish it was longer. I would have given this book a higher rating if it was longer!
**** For a short book, I give kudos for the following:
1) Author incorporates sufficient details that are descriptive.
2) The book is fast paced; however, the storyline is complex for a short book.
3) The narrator brings the story to life. I was imagining the scene from beginning to the end. This boasted the rating to 4.0 Stars for the audiobook.
If you are looking for an light, enjoyable read, this may be the audiobook for you!

Cozy, Relaxing Read
Revisado: 05-10-19
**** I was provided with a free audiobook from the author for a honest review.
Overall, I enjoyed the book and would recommend to my friends who are looking for a cozy read. It was relaxing to listen to a book that does not involve any violence. The narrator's voice personified the main character (Liam).
1) I loved the concept of using science to reanimate someone's life in the present time. Most science fiction books, time travel is the hot topic. In this case, Liam cannot go back in time but can only move forward in life.
2) Narrator voice was gentle, yet monotone at times.
3) There were moments of humor where reanimated Liam doesn't feel strong emotions. He was unable to mourn for his wife.
4) The beginning of the book to the point where reanimated Liam looks for his wife grabbed my interest. I gradually lost interest as I kept listening to Liam learning more about life.

Historia
Esmy is singularly frustrated by the lack of pockets in women's clothing. Living in a small Indiana college town with her librarian brother, Jake, Esmy is stuck in a rut with fixing the same crappy WiFi issues day in and day out. But meeting Loki, the mischievous trickster god of Norse legend, ignites her life like a powder-keg. This simple, seemingly innocuous encounter leads her and Jake to discover the college campus's mysterious depths, involving voodoo priestesses, Sasquatches, vampires, a Canadian with a vendetta against the girl scouts, and much more.

Unusual Plot/Humor that did not interest me
Revisado: 03-23-19
Thank you for the opportunity to review this book (via audible), which allowed me to explore other genres I seldom read. The book itself was not poorly written; however, the main plot (including the humor) did not appeal to me.
*** Loki is under captivity of Seth and is sent to a boring midwest town as a quest. In the process, Loki discover his granddaughter. They partake on an adventure together and meet other mythical beings, including necromancer who has duck zombies to bigfoot. What must they do to regain Loki's freedom and for Esmy (granddaughter) to survive?
Here are the positives I noticed in the book:
1. The narrator did a phenomenal job narrating the book.
2. Appropriate humor is applied depending on the mythical being, such as the five duck zombies/necromancer.
To simply state, the urban fantasy book on "supernatural humor" was not meant for me.
*** If you are into urban fantasy books and Loki, this may be the book for you!

Magical, Unrelenting Love Story
Revisado: 02-27-19
This is a story of love between Avry and his love expressed beautifully!
What will Avry do? Perform his royal duties or rescue his love from the White Bird.
In aspect of love, you can expect a predictable ending; however, the two lovebirds' struggles are realistic. I love how I was able to relate to both.
Read/Listen to the book. It's worth your time!

Mystical yet an Elegant Story
Revisado: 02-20-19
I'm not the biggest fan of YA fantasy; however, I enjoyed this book for these reasons:
1. The story of the fae kingdom intrigued me. It was introduced in an elegant manner yet revealed the dark side. Humans are taken as slaves. The book does not go into details but provides enough information to imagine the fae kingdom hidden within the cursed woods. I enjoyed the light read!
2. I personally appreciated the necessary information presented with minimal fillers.
3. The narrator presented the story to fit the atmosphere of the plot.
*** I would definitely recommend this book to YA fantasy readers among my friends.

First Audiobook that got me hooked!
Revisado: 01-31-19

I loved the audiobook for "Cat Woman - Soul Stealer."
1) The narrator's mellow voice suited the characters well.
2) The plot was serious, but the author did not emotionally overburden the reader.
3) This is the first audiobook that hooked me into listening to books!
