Historia
Our ability to prevent and reverse these conditions—and feel incredible today—is under our control and simpler than we think. The key is our metabolic function—the most important and least understood factor in our overall health. As Dr. Casey Means explains in this book, nearly every health problem we face can be explained by how well the cells in our body create and use energy. To live free from frustrating symptoms and life-threatening disease, we need our cells to be optimally powered so that they can create “good energy,” the essential fuel that impacts every aspect of our wellbeing.

Actionable Advice
Revisado: 11-24-24
I love this audio book. The author, Casey, is easy to listen to and covers all aspects of health living. She delves into actions that you can take and is very specific about what it means to be metabolically healthy. I can’t recommend this book enough if you want to take control of your health destiny!

Historia
A compelling argument - masterfully researched and brilliantly articulated - that despite increasing prosperity for most of Earth’s inhabitants and an explosion of goods overall, consumption of natural resources such as metals, water, and timber has begun to decline. Best-selling author and codirector of the MIT Initiative on the Digital Economy Andrew McAfee says there’s a new reason for optimism: We’re past the point of "peak stuff" - from here on out, it'll take fewer resources to make things and fewer dollars to lead a comfortable life.

Sustainability Meets Capitalism
Revisado: 11-05-19
McAfee makes a compelling argument that capitalism, human well-being and environmental stewardship aren’t all mutually exclusive, but instead essential to solving some of the most daunting problems of our time. It’s an optimistic take on the state of the world but still tied to the reality that global warming, pollution and other problems won’t solve themselves. It’s a very enjoyable read and I’d especially recommend it to anyone who thinks the world is perpetually getting worse!

Historia
The shift toward automation is about to create a tsunami of unemployment. Not in the distant future - now. One recent estimate predicts 13 million American workers will lose their jobs within the next seven years - jobs that won't be replaced. In a future marked by restlessness and chronic unemployment, what will happen to American society? In The War on Normal People, Andrew Yang paints a dire portrait of the American economy. Rapidly advancing technologies like artificial intelligence, robotics, and automation software are making millions of Americans' livelihoods irrelevant.

Excellent Book
Revisado: 05-15-19
Andrew Yang is spot on regarding the flaws in the current state of the US economy, healthcare and education systems. He walks the reader through common sense solutions to all of the problems and extrapolates how our way of life and democracy is under threat by autonomous transportation, AI and the end of millions of middle class jobs. The book is well written, funny and entertaining even though the message is somewhat bleak.
