OMG I didn't tear up... you did!

I expected it to be good but also forgot how much this series hits. It has such a wonderful and sweet story of characters to fall in love with but also has a layer of heart that is relatable and also self reflecting. I highly highly recommend this book and series. Now to go and try to make some Lassie Buns.

The book I have been wanting for so long!!!

So I'm not going to spoil things... so I won't. But this is a fantastic book with heart, fun and relatable characters, and a great story. Also not to mention as someone thats worked in a coffee shop/ bakery, was a baker, and love baking, the details are sooooo spot on and I could really feel like I was in one. Its a must read especially if you enjoy fantasy, enjoy characters and how they relate to one another, or simply relate to wanting to change your life. Travis does a great job at both writing but also delivering these characters to us.

A very long recap

As usual James was fantastic but unfortunately it was my least favorite "Dresden Files" Book. I understand that its been a very long time since we received a Dresden Files book but I felt like you can read up to the first couple of chapters and skip until the ending events. Most of it was reintroducing characters and over sexualizing all of the female characters (well really all of the characters... I'm not opposed to sexual freedom but you can't make all of the characters have threesomes... it's not in Butters character style) which is weird especially when it involves even Molly. Sure he's being taken over by the winter mantel but Molly is still your best friends daughter that you have known since she was in middle school. Dude it's creepy. I did like the discussion over the weapons of the knights and Butters having a blade that can't cut people but yeah i felt like it was full of fillers. And the battle between him and McCoy was a bit of what I call "Supernatural drama" (show that relied on not telling each other when there were problems). Sure McCoy is human and has a temper but her would move heaven and earth for Dresden. If McCoy knew Thomas was his grandson he would be a little upset at first but was also the type of person that would still take him in as family or a result of his victimized daughter (which is why he dislikes the vampires so much). He's very much family first so I thought the fight was just for drama's sake. Sure he wouldn't be happy but he would also say history is history... you can't change it.

Cosmically fantastic!

How to explain this book.... An epically entertaining adventure. It's written extremely well, I loved the style. The characters are really enjoyable. The audiobook delivery is fantastic. Oh I can't rave about this without spoiling it out of excitement. All I can say is I immediately went to book 2 after this one.

So I enjoyed this very much! I have discovered many books because I greatly enjoy Luke Daniels' narrations and this is my first Hunter Blain book. I thought this was a lot of fun. John (the main character) is.... the best way to say this is if Dresden had a vampiric offspring with Deadpool. Without spoilers... he is a friendly wiseass. He is far from perfect, but he means well. He has flaws... might make a mistake but he is... or well was only human. I'm a HUGE fan of the Dresden series by Jim Butcher so I feel like this has a similar feel. You get a great sense of who he is.... who his allies are... and a part of the world. It's really entertaining and I can't wait to hear more!!!! Thank you to you both!

Close to the first two but still holds its own

As the subject says... it’s as good as the first two but still explores other characters more. I also feel like it laughs at the last book in its own way.

I’m in love with this series! Fantastic writer!

I came across this series because I’m a big fan of Luke Daniels. But when I found this book I was really impressed. It’s written really well and paints a picture whether it be an action scene or even a diplomatic dance! It’s extremely cinematic and beautiful.
