Historia
When the Imperial prison barge Purge—temporary home to five hundred of the galaxy’s most ruthless killers, Rebels, scoundrels, and thieves—breaks down in a distant part of space, its only hope appears to lie with a Star Destroyer found drifting and seemingly abandoned. But when a boarding party from the Purge is sent to scavenge for parts, only half of them come back—bringing with them a horrific disease so lethal that within hours, nearly all aboard the Purge die in ways too hideous to imagine.

Excellent Zombie Star Wars listen!
Revisado: 02-09-23
I wasn't sure of what to expect when I got this audiobook, but it is well worth the listen. The author is very good a describing action and horror. I was squirming at some of the grisly descriptions of events.
I will say that the introduction of big-time legacy characters seemed a bit over the top. I suppose it doesn't take away or add to the aspects of those characters, but it did seem very shoe-horned in.
The narrator is very good. He does a great job with every character's voice included the legacy characters.
However, I'm not sure who decided to have the chapter titles repeated in a high-pitched shriek. That was more comical than terrifying. I laughed out loud every single time a chapter title was repeated in that screech.
Certainly recommend this audiobook.

Action-packed Medieval Historical Fantasy!!!
Revisado: 08-30-21
The righteous, devout Paladin, soldier of the Divinity, fighting for all that is good. Yet, is victory over evil worth the eternal damnation of this holy warrior's soul?
This tale of medieval fantasy is set during the year 1241 in the Holy Roman Empire. The story focuses on three paladin companions who are tasked with protecting the local populace and serving out justice. That is until they are summoned to return to the heart of the Empire to confront a new threat that has arisen in the land, an evil seeking destruction of all life. Fast-paced and action-packed, the story taps into psychological and moral aspects as the line between good and evil is frequently blurred.
This is a biased review given that I am the author, but I do want to emphasize the superb narration of Josh Innerst. Myself being an avid Audible listener/reviewer, I acutely understand how important the narrator's delivery can enhance the tale; and Josh's narration makes my writing sound far better than it has any right!
I hope you enjoy this tale and Josh's excellent delivery!

A surprise to be sure!
Revisado: 04-12-20
I enjoyed the movie, but my expectations for the book were initially reserved because I did not expect it to enhance the movie much. I'm glad that I was wrong! Rae Carson does a fantastic job of broadening scene and providing greater insights on events in the movie. I really wish the movie had some of the extra content. Marc Thompson is a brilliant narrator taking on the speech characteristics of the actors.
Certainly recommend this to any Star Wars fan!

Historia
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Exciting Thrill ride!
Revisado: 04-06-20
This is the second book from the author who wrote The Martian. It is steeped in the technological plausibility of how it would be to live on the moon.
The story focuses on Jazz, a young woman, who gets involved in a deal which she hopes will provide her with enough money to do whatever she wants.
The novel is very well-paced and has plenty of thrills throughout.
One knock against the narration is that Rosario Dawson seems to be trying too hard to sound cynical and sarcastic. I can understand that being the personality of the character, but Dawson takes it over the top. I like Rosario much better as an on-screen actress.

In 2015, the US Women's National Soccer Team won its first FIFA championship in 16 years, culminating in an epic final game that electrified soccer fans around the world. It featured a gutsy, brilliant performance by team captain and midfielder Carli Lloyd, who made history that day, scoring a hat trick - three goals in one game - during the first 16 minutes. But there was a time when Carli almost quit the sport. In 2003 she was struggling, her soccer career at a crossroads.

Absolutely captivating!
Revisado: 04-06-20
Carli Lloyd is, of course, one the big heroes on the U.S. Women's National soccer team that won the 2015 and 2019 World Cups. This is her extremely captivating story of how she became a soccer player, how she met and worked with her famous coach, James Galanis, to become of the best soccer players in the world.
Her insights to the inner circle of the soccer players during the many years she's been with the USWNT is highly entertaining.
Certainly a fantastic listen!

Captivating Crime Thriller!
Revisado: 04-06-20
UNSUB, or unknown subject of an investigation, is about detective Caitlin Hendrix, who begins investigating murders that are very similar to a series of murders that her father had investigated many years earlier. Caitlin's father eventually left the police force due to the psychological trauma he endured while working on those series of murders.
As Caitlin continues her investigation, she is more and more convinced that his killer is the same serial kill, the Prophet, that her father investigated.
This novel is very believable in its depiction of detective work and police protocol.
The narrator is very good in her delivery.

Expectations too high?
Revisado: 05-18-19
I can't say that this book really blew me away. It's an interesting look into the mind and manner of Grand Admiral Thrawn. It starts with the Empire discovering Thrawn on a deserted, remote planet. He impresses the Imperials with his tactical and strategic abilities that they take him back to the military academies. There, he continues to show his prowess for having a great military mind and Thrawn moves quickly up the ranks.
Anyone familiar with Governor Pryce from Star Wars Rebels will find the origin of the character quite well done as she is a character that is focused on for a substantial portion of the novel.
However, I didn't find the novel to be particularly exciting as it focused heavily on Thrawn's ability to study/read the body language of others; so much so that, at times, it got tedious. I'm not sure about other readers, but there's only so much I can endure of Thrawn observing how someone's 'eyes widened' or 'corners of the mouth turned down in disapproval'. The observation of obvious body language isn't that compelling.
Nevertheless, it's certainly a novel that Star Wars fans will enjoy!

On the alien, sunless planet they call Eden, the 532 members of the Family shelter beneath the light and warmth of the Forest's lantern trees. Beyond the Forest lie the mountains of the Snowy Dark and a cold so bitter and a night so profound that no man has ever crossed it. The Oldest among the Family recount legends of a world where light came from the sky, where men and women made boats that could cross the stars. These ships brought us here, the Oldest say - and the Family must only wait for the travelers to return.

Alien Eden
Revisado: 05-18-19
This is a particularly strange story about a tribe of humans who have descended from a couple who were stranded on an unknown planet (which the tribe refers to as Eden). Obviously, inbreeding (since the tribe is essentially descended from two people) has had an effect on the humans resulting in "bat-faces" and other deformities. The story focuses on a couple of members in the tribe who are curious about the early history of their ancestors, how they became stranded on this unknown planet, and how they plan to get back to Earth.
It is very well written and certainly places you in the strange, unknown environment.
The various narrators are good in their delivery.

Historia
The tale begins in Dark Age Britain, a land where Arthur has been banished and Merlin has disappeared, where a child-king sits unprotected on the throne, where religion vies with magic for the souls of the people. It is to this desperate land that Arthur returns, a man at once utterly human and truly heroic: a man of honor, loyalty, and amazing valor; a man who loves Guinevere more passionately than he should; a man whose life is at once tragic and triumphant.

The Arthurian legend you've been waiting for!
Revisado: 02-23-19
Why, why, why did I not get this novel sooner?! As a obsessed fan over anything Arthurian legend, this is the novel (nay, the trilogy) that (trust me) you will want to listen to satisfy any craving for a take on the famous tale.
Bernard Cornwell's rich take on the legend of King Arthur is so steeped in history and realism that you will completely believe it could have actually occurred.
The familiar characters, Arthur, Guinevere, Lancelot, Merlin, etc., etc. are so well fleshed out that you will feel as if you are right there in the story with them. Are there a few twists and unexpected surprises to this rendition of the tale? Yes, and they make it all the more interesting!
The narrator is excellent as well bringing a rich, authoritative tone to the story.
A must listen!

Historia
An 11-year-old boy's violated corpse is found in a town park. Eyewitnesses and fingerprints point unmistakably to one of Flint City's most popular citizens. He is Terry Maitland, Little League coach, English teacher, husband, and father of two girls. Detective Ralph Anderson, whose son Maitland once coached, orders a quick and very public arrest. Maitland has an alibi, but Anderson and the district attorney soon add DNA evidence to go with the fingerprints and witnesses. Their case seems ironclad.

Vintage King
Revisado: 09-02-18
Having read or listened to so many Stephen King novels, I would simply say that this latest novel "The Outsider" is vintage King. It's the typical fantastical horror story in which several people band together to find/destroy a supernatural evil. Listening to this novel, you are reminded of The Shining, The Stand, IT, etc. etc.
The story, for the most part, is very well written and keeps you on the edge of your seat wanting to know what will happen next.
Of course, once you get to the end of the story, it plays out like so many of King's other works.
Will Patton does a commendable job of narration with the exception of his overly dramatic, breathless, take on the character of Holly. Someone should really notify Will to not make Holly sound like a female Captain Kirk, so incredulous at the prospect of anything that she can hardly manage to make a statement without it seeming like it's the end of the world.
For Stephen King fans, this will be well-trodden territory. For those new to S.K., this is a great novel!
