Historia
“Sam, could you do me a favor?” Thus begins a story that has now become part of America's true-crime hall of fame. It is a gory, grotesque tale befitting a Stephen King novel. It is also a David and Goliath saga - the story of a young lawyer fresh from the public defender's office whose first client in private practice turns out to be the worst serial killer in our nation's history. This is a gripping true crime narrative that reenacts the gruesome killings and the famous trial that shocked a nation.

Manipulative Coward

I enjoyed hearing the perspective of his defense attorney. The retelling of Gacy's confession alone is worth the price of the book. Be prepared with something a bit more uplifting to listen to when you're done this.

He was a model citizen. A hospital volunteer. And one of the most sadistic serial killers of all time. But few people could see the cruel monster beneath the colorful clown makeup that John Gacy wore to entertain children in his Chicago suburb. Few could imagine what lay buried beneath his house of horrors—until a teenage boy disappeared before Christmas in 1978, leading prosecutor Terry Sullivan on the greatest manhunt of his career.

Revisado: 01-10-18
Way too much time spent on the cops utterly bizarre cozy relationship with Gacy. It was weird. You know something's wrong if you finish a book about one of the worst serial killers of all time and the cops are the ones that leave you scratching your head.

If you're even mildly interested in the topic, you'll enjoy this book. If you have social anxiety, this is like having a friend with the same problem that you can closely identify with. Well written and narrated. Highly recommended.

Historia
A natural storyteller with a bottomless pit of material, Lange grew up in a close-knit, working-class Italian family in Union, New Jersey, as a maniacal Yankees fan who pursued the two things his father said he was cut out for: sports and comedy. Wild, shocking, and drop-dead hilarious, Too Fat to Fish is Artie Lange giving everything he's got to give. And like a true pro, the man never disappoints.

Too Fat to Finish
Revisado: 10-20-17
I would have preferred if Artie read the whole book. I was never a big fan of his, I stopped listening to the Stern show when Jackie Martling left - I thought it wasn't as funny without him. But, I like a good story and Artie has some great stories to tell. Some funny, some incredible sad and pitiful. I hope he cleans himself up before it's too late because I'd like to listen to another book from him. If...he reads the whole thing.

Are you tired of feeling f*cked up? If you are, Gary John Bishop has the answer. In this straightforward handbook, he gives you the tools and advice you need to demolish the slag weighing you down and become the truly unf--ked version of yourself. "Wake up to the miracle you are," he directs. "Here's what you've forgotten: You're a f--king miracle of being." It isn't other people that are standing in your way; it isn't even your circumstances that are blocking your ability to thrive. It's yourself and the negative self-talk you keep telling yourself.

Revisado: 10-10-17
If you're looking for motivation and inspiration, give this book a chance. I've listened twice, and will surely return to it when I need a kick in the pants. There is absolutely no filler here, no attempt to stretch the book longer than it needed to be. It's rare to find a book so concise - not a word was wasted.

Hello. It's Todd Barry. Yes, the massively famous comedian. I have billons of fans all over the world, so I do my fair share of touring. While I love doing shows in the big cities (New York, Chicago, Cleveland), I also enjoy a good secondary market (Rochester, Springfield, Toledo). There's something great about performing in a place where they don't expect to see you.

Low energy. In a good way.
Revisado: 10-09-17
I only knew Todd Barry from the Louie TV show before listening to this. His sense of humor is dry and intellectual. There's no bathroom humor here, unless you count his rants about dirty restrooms without soap. Seems like a slightly neurotic, but overall good guy that I could identify with. An enjoyable listen, and I look forward to a follow-up.

David Spade is best known for his harsh "Hollywood Minute" sketches on SNL, his starring roles in movies like Tommy Boy and Joe Dirt, and his seven-year stint as Dennis Finch on the series Just Shoot Me. Now, with a wit as dry as the weather in his home state of Arizona, the "comic brat extraordinaire" delivers a memoir.

Exceeded expectations
Revisado: 09-23-17
The title of the book might have set my expectations low, or it might have been because I'm really not a fan of David Spade or SNL. Reading the other reviews I thought I'd give it a shot and I'm glad I did. He's a good storyteller and he's got some good stories to tell. I always thought he was a bit of a jackass and tried a little too hard to be funny. Here, he come through as a genuinely likeable guy, and he's humorous in a subtle, sarcastic way. After hearing this, I'm a fan and hope for another book.

Some excellent advice and you can't help being motivated by Grant's over the top enthusiasm. Some might find him overbearing, and the production value on this could be better, but for 5 bucks it's a good introduction to Mr. Cardone. If you like this then I recommend getting his 10x Rule book.

Comedian Jim Norton is dirty...really dirty...the kind of dirty that makes The Aristocrats look like a knock-knock joke. Fortunately for him, his kind of dirty humor has earned him the distinction of being third microphone on the immensely popular Opie & Anthony syndicated radio show. In Happy Endings, Jim brings his raw, hilarious, and offensively honest comedy to Audible® listeners.

Inspiring
Revisado: 09-18-17
Sad topic but an inspiring story narrated by the person who lived through it. Very well written. Only minor criticism was the author's narration made difficult to distinguish who was saying what. Minor quibble though, still a great listen.
