Historia
Every day without fail, Travis Devine puts on a cheap suit, grabs his faux-leather briefcase, and boards the 6:20 commuter train to Manhattan, where he works as an entry-level analyst at the city’s most prestigious investment firm. In the mornings, he gazes out the train window at the lavish homes of the uberwealthy, dreaming about joining their ranks. In the evenings, he listens to the fiscal news on his phone, already preparing for the next grueling day in the cutthroat realm of finance. Then one morning Devine’s tedious routine is shattered by an anonymous email: She is dead.

I pride myself in figuring out “who done it.” This story had many twists and turns, totally throwing me for a loop! Great story with an ending that may just become a series?!

Historia
With the full resources of the Justice Department, the intelligence community, and the military (not to mention presidential pardons pre-signed), Logan must battle a secret organization with the connections and funding to rival many first-world nations. The goal of this organization is both singular and sinister - to pit the United States against China in a bid to dismantle the world’s security and economy.

This book was very interesting, however at times I would lose track of the characters, due to the military lingo. I will definitely listen to the following stories.

Historia
In this “vital, necessary, and beautiful book” (Michael Eric Dyson), antiracist educator Robin DiAngelo deftly illuminates the phenomenon of white fragility and “allows us to understand racism as a practice not restricted to 'bad people'" (Claudia Rankine). Referring to the defensive moves white people make when challenged racially, white fragility is characterized by emotions such as anger, fear, and guilt and by behaviors including argumentation and silence. These behaviors, in turn, function to reinstate white racial equilibrium and prevent meaningful cross-racial dialogue.

Great information in this book, making me really more aware of the issue of racism.
Two things that I didn’t like was:
1. I felt like I was listening to someone’s dissertation. Vocabulary was difficult at times to comprehend.
2. I felt there was very little recommendations for fixing the problem.

Historia
Welcome to the most tumultuous summer of the 20th century. It's 1969, and for the Levin family, the times they are a-changing. Every year, the children have looked forward to spending the summer at their grandmother's historic home in downtown Nantucket. But like so much else in America, nothing is the same.

What a great book with detailed stories of the characters, including twists and turns. Growing up during this time, I can so picture these people and circumstances. A fun read that brought me back to ‘69.
