I'm so happy with the new Audible Originals because now I've been exposed to so many audibles like this one which I absolutely loved! Lately, I've been striking out with my own choices and would have probably suspended my subscription. But stories like Evil Eye have kept panting for my next month's FREE downloads.
Evil Eye puts the reader in the position of a eves-dropper on the conversation between a traditional Indian mother who's pressuring her modern, put-upon daughter to hurry up and get married already. Story starts off cute and comical. Mom is relentless, Not only does she want her daughter to be married, she wants her to marry the PERFECT guy. (good family, educated, money!) Had me shaking my head and chuckling. She even has a physic on speed-dial! When her girl seems to find and fall for the PERFECT guy, you think okay happily ever after, right? WRONG!! now this PERFECT guy is too perfect. His stars are not aligned. But more than that, mom thinks this guy is someone from HER past. Someone deadly, and the story goes crazy from there. I thought I was gonna sit and listen to a couple of minutes and move on. NOPE. This story had me glued to my phone to the end.
BRAVO! Audible Originals. Keep them coming!!

Disappointing pick

I don't know, I really enjoyed the last book by Nick Spalding. But this one fell short. Maybe it was partly the narrative. The female especially felt more like reading not performing, if you know what I mean. Very over enounciated. And the story was very shallow. Just a Meh for me, unfortunately.

I absolutely loved it from the beginning to the twist at the end. I enjoyed the full cast performance as it would have been hard to keep up with the large list of characters had it just been a traditional read. This was definitely my kind of suspense without blood and gore that keeps me at the edge of the chair.

Realistic Love story

Is there anything you would change about this book?

My biggest pet peeve is unrealistic Romances, so I kinda enjoyed this real love story. However, it did kind of ended abruptly.

If you’ve listened to books by Ben Burgess Jr. before, how does this one compare?

I've never read this author's work before, but I will look out for more.

Which scene was your favorite?

I don't want to give too much of the story away, but I enjoyed how everything Karen was doing just came to light.

Do you think Love and Happiness needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Like I said, it did sort of end abruptly, so a follow-up would be interesting. Does Karen change her cheating ways, what about the guys she was cheating with? Etc.

She Gets Me!!

Finally, a self-help book that actually works. Dana k. White gets down to the nitty-gritty of home management. No sweet talking or deep thinking. This is truly the lazy girl's guide to organization.
I love when she gives the Ultimate Number 1 Rule "Just wash the dishes!"

This was the first time I've read anything from this author, and I will certainly be looking for another story from him. This was a sweet, funny and sometimes all too real story of a couple in a competition to lose some major weight.
A very touching story with very real and believable characters.
I loved it!

My header says it all. probably won't finish. I've read many stories like this, and this story added nothing to the genre. I didn't really feel anything for the characters and the storyline was weak.
Overall, blah.

This is one of the first books I've ever listened to that I prefer the actual book. The pictures In the book really enhance the experience. Something missing with the audible.

What would have made The Prayer Box better?

Did not finish, story just long and drawn out. You know the type, details about every single thing in a room. But no real details about the characters.

Not sure yet.

How could the performance have been better?

Narrator gave a strange performance. Strange delivery, I kept adjusting my play speed.

Story just not for me. I kept hitting the fast-forward trying to get to the guts of the story, but I just didn't get it. Sorry.
