It took me a while to get used to the author moving backward and forward across time. It also left me a little anxious as he left holes in the story. At first, I would rewind and listen again to see if I drifted off and missed something. As I grew accustomed to both of these, I found myself eagerly anticipating when the next missing puzzle piece would drop into place, with that satisfying feeling of finding what I had unknowingly been holding my breath for. The narration is so wonderful. I felt like I was with him in the room as he unfolded his own story. I will miss him.

Best Book About Attachment Ever

Everyone is talking about attachment theory. New understanding about how this changes a person and everyone around them is shared every day. This book explains the attachment process at its roots in infant development. It then goes on to eloquently describe how society as a whole is shaped by the wounded individuals that make up its parts. There are examples of how real people are providing practical services that change individuals and their communities. I recommend this book to everyone I know.

The author does a very credible job of shining a light into the world of the domestic violence victim. What begins as love slowly descends into a living hell. Not all stories end in happily ever after, but this one surprises you at the end.

Seldom do you find a book that teaches a history lesson (The great depression and the dust bowl experience in the late 1930's), and a zoology lesson (Learning about the giraffes), while shedding light on multiple cultural themes (racism, sexism, animal rights, parent-child influence, poverty, etc) woven into such an engaging journey. the narrator is perfect to tell this story. I couldn't wait to get to what was coming next. I highly recommend this for readers if all ages.

I thoroughly enjoyed this insider view of the White House and these presidents. The story was well written and the personal view of life in the White House was enjoyable. Only by increasing the speed of the narration by 30% was able to tolerate the narrator. He truly did sound like he was falling asleep as he read.

Other biographies I purchased provided a great deal more detail about the lives and political activities of the Presidents in the book. The narrator must be someone's unemployed nephew. I haven't heard anyone butcher the reading of a book like this since I bought my first Kindle and listened to the computer try to navigate multi-syllable words.

The male narration on this audiobook was terrible. Many of the male characters sounded like dumb jocks.
