Historia
We cannot talk about God with any degree of certainty, because God is, by definition, a being who transcends imagination, expectation, and comprehension. What we know is this: There is more of God to know than any of us will ever fully know in this life. So, let's begin by embracing the mystery of Christ to discover the endlessly unfolding beauty of uncertainty.

Bishop, Bible scholar, and best-selling author N. T. Wright here provides a series of case studies on how to apply the Bible to the pressing issues of today. Among the topics Wright addresses are the intersection of religion and science, why women should be allowed to be ordained, what we get wrong and how we can do better when Christians engage in politics, why the Christian belief in heaven means we should be at the forefront of the environmental movement, and many more.

Fantastic
Revisado: 11-22-21
I like how the author dives in deep into every topic he brings up. Not merely relying on surface answers to popular Christian topics but thought-out and systematically answered. The narration of this work is well done and I would recommend this book to anyone that studies scripture.

Historia
Is it really possible to love one's enemies? That's the question that sparked a fascinating and, at times, terrifying journey into the heart of the Middle East during the summer of 2008. It was a trip that began in Egypt, passed beneath the steel-and-glass high-rises of Saudi Arabia, then wound through the bullet-pocked alleyways of Beirut and dusty streets of Damascus, before ending at the cradle of the world's three major religions: Jerusalem.

Historia
Carl Medearis provides new insights into the top questions people have about Muslims and Islam. With practical information and fascinating stories, he shares culturally sensitive ways for Christians to get to know Muslims on a personal level. Medearis shows how common ground is the best foundation for hearts turning to Jesus rather than focusing initially on the differences between Islam and Christianity.

Eye-Opening

If I could give this book Infinite stars I would. I liked how the author gave references from the Qur’an that agree with references from the Bible. I also liked the individual stories throughout the book. I would recommend this book to Christian Missionaries traveling abroad (regardless of country or the faith of the people they are ministering to) as there are good practices in how to honor others (different than ourselves) throughout this book. I would also recommend it as a book for anyone to study for cultural awareness in general. I chose this rating because of the depth the author went into to provide encompassing multi-cultural coaching in both Muslim/Christian worldviews as well as Western/Eastern worldviews. Carl has challenged me to dive in deeper. I want to grow in my relationship with Jesus and to love my neighbors better and more genuinely than before.

Historia
Quit defending Christianity. Author Carl Medearis is not interested in keeping Christianity alive. Not one bit. Carl believes it has grown into something that is rarely attractive, frequently divisive, and all too often embarrassing. He believes you may feel this way too. In his new audiobook, Speaking of Jesus, Carl gives us a wink and a grin and the permission to stop feeding this thing called Christianity. His offer is that doing so allows us the freedom to relax and feast on Jesus.

Refreshing & Intriguing
Revisado: 04-01-21
I liked that Carl has opened up honest dialog with individuals in his sphere of influence that identify with Christian beliefs about what following Jesus looks like without a lot of the trappings. After reading Speaking Of Jesus: The Art of Not-Evangelism, I see how it is placing the cart before the horse (so to speak) in fulfilling the great commission if motives, attitudes, and preconceptions are misguided. I would recommend this book to two types. First, to anyone that wants to grow in their Christian faith I have found value in these pages and I think you will too. Second, to anyone that just needs a confidence boost to open up conversation with another (whether in missionary work or not). Carl shows that there is success in just being yourself. The rating reflects the content of the book and the quality of the narration.

Historia
The average length of Jesus’ conversations as recorded in the Gospels was 42 seconds long. This is good news for all of us. It frees us up to talk about the most important part of our lives in a way that’s natural, meaningful, and helpful instead of clumsy, awkward, and irrelevant. Anyone who has spent countless uncomfortable hours walking from house to house with a clipboard or flash cards that talk about four spiritual laws understands.

It is a book of encouragement and a call to action
Revisado: 08-20-20
Moreover, In the book, the author gives us numerous examples where he had fostered a relationship among people of different backgrounds and in various situations, such as the cashier at a fast food establishment during a quick stop for some coffee, or a friend in need of guidance and a listening ear. Accordingly, He has made it a point in his life to undertake this personal challenge by considering what Jesus did in his life and ministry. For example, many of Jesus’ profound conversations with others were brief yet life altering. Opening our mouth and saying hello or asking about someone’s life in a meaningful and unhurried fashion can be difficult at times. Risking our sense of comfort in a situation where we could feel rejection is real; However, the reward for doing so overrules the gamble.
Furthermore, I recommend this book to anyone who seeks encouragement or motivation to learn a few simple ways of engaging with their neighbor and values the model Jesus left us. This blueprint leads us in a way that will leave a lasting impact.
