Not bad until....

I was enjoying this book, laughed out loud a few times, and then got to the last two hours. I'm so tired of authors making it sound like women can only prove true love by allowing anal play during sex. Won't bother with this author again if she's jumping on this bandwagon.

Just couldn't finish it

I really wanted to like this book, but it was just too annoying. So many things that just don't make sense. She can't remember he's in the Air Force and not the Army. He's been a pilot in the Air Force for 8 years but never been out of the country. She's supposedly a strong, independent woman but at 30 years old completely flakes out every time she talks to her out of control manipulative mother. The last straw was her flipping out because she was conceived before her parents got married. Seriously, in this day and age? Finally couldn't stomach any more of it.

Didn't make it past the first chapter

I'm trying to find books that aren't completely far fatched or so raunchy they make me need a shower, and I was hoping this genre would be it, but I barely got through the first chapter. The first conversation between the male and female lead was ridiculous, especially considering it was supposedly a job interview. Being an adult and a professional was obviously not in this game plan.

Story and narration were alright, but it just quit

I enjoyed the story, though some of it was a little bit of a reach. Narrator was good, though over-acted some things and under-performed others. It wasn't a book that I felt like I just had to finish right now, but it wasn't bad for killing time while I was driving. My biggest complaint is that the story just stopped. The synopsis on the book doesn't mention a second book or it being part of a series. You get half way through the plot of the mystery itself, you get a nice little bow tied on their romance, and it's the end. So I check out the author's page and guess what there's another book mentioning a character referenced in the first book.

The story was what I expected from Cindy Gerard, pretty good story line with a few things that are eye rolling over the top. But this narrator.....can we say over-acting? I get that they want some life breathed into the story, but this guy is cringe worthy sometimes. Really glad he only did this one book or I wouldn't have made it through the series.

I like Erin Mallon as a narrator but she is not an author. Or maybe she was on a tight deadline and didn't really think this through. There were some funny one-liners and catchy back and forth, but not a good story line at all. Wish I could get even my Black Friday special money back.

Fairly unoriginal story lines in the series, but had enough humor to make it worth listening to while I go about my day. But I'm sick of authors thinking anal sex, even in it's mildest foreplay forms, is appropriate to promote. So-called romance is turning into soft porn.

I don't consider myself a prude, and I've listened to my share of more erotic romances, though I get sick of some of the ones that turn into soft porn. I wanted to finish the series and get through the overall story line arc, but you lost me with the anal sex. There's just no reason to go there, when there are so many other satisfying sexual experiences you can use. That will be the last book I read by Lauren Blakely.
