Historia
Stone Barrington is called to Bel-Air to oversee an exclusive event that will gather the top echelons of the beau monde: Hollywood starlets, socialites, politicos, billionaires from overseas. It’s a task in which Stone has a personal stake, and one that is made all the more pleasurable - though somewhat more complicated - with the arrivals of two beautiful women with whom he’s intimately acquainted. But the grand occasion has also attracted a dangerous criminal group with sinister plans....

Amaturish
Revisado: 10-10-12
I find my self in the unwanted position of not not knowing who to recommending this book to. It doesn't fit into the mystery or the thriller category. Stuart Woods is a great author but his dipping a toe into the technothriller realm is not successful.
He should have created a character within the Barrington novels and started another series with an occasional cameo by Stone.

Revisado: 08-15-12
Again W.E.B. Griffin makes us long for the days when honor and dedication meant something. He has a singular way of taking historical events and giving them life as the reader is not only involved, but part of the story. From FDR's machevellian nature to the "devil may care" attitude of Canidy, he gives us dreams of the days of Yore.

The first and most bizarre event nearly becomes a monumental catastrophe when something goes awry at an American theme park, wreaking havoc on visitors looking for nothing more than a sun-splashed holiday. In a different part of the country, a USAF F-15 pilot, escorting another jet in the skies over the Midwest, inexplicably loses control of his plane, endangering the lives of several people and deeply puzzling those following his mission on the ground.

Disappointed!
Revisado: 05-01-12
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
People who have not read any of the Alex Hawke novels may enjoy this book.
Would you ever listen to anything by Ted Bell again?
Yes if Mr. Bell returns to the great espionage thrillers he's known for.
What does John Shea bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
He's a great narrator and makes you believe Hawke really exists
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Not Really

Twilight for the next generation
Revisado: 08-14-11
As an adult I found this 1st installment of the Michael Vey books to be a little on the fanciful side, but with the innocence of youth, this series of books will travel down the same roads as Twilight and Harry Potter. From the strenght of the Michael Vey character to the comedic sidekick Austin, this series will be one I own. My only regret is that these books will only come once a year.

Historia
A plan to destroy America, a hundred years in the making, is about to be unleashed. There is a powerful technique called the Overton Window that can shape our lives, our laws, and our future. It works by manipulating public perception so that ideas previously thought of as radical begin to seem acceptable over time. Move the Window and you change the debate. Change the debate and you change the country.

Lackluster
Revisado: 06-23-10
Unfortunately there was not enough intrigue to qualify as a thriller. This book only works well if a series is in the making. The part of Noah started well but fell off at the end. It was an ok first try, however if Glenn intends to continue in the political thriller genre, his characters need to stand out from the rest of the book. ie: Mitch Rapp This genre needs to read like a legal or medical thriller. Glenn has the less violence part down but he needs to bring in a more Mission Impossible feel to it.

Disappointed
Revisado: 01-28-10
I'm upset at how much time Sara Paretzky spent on her political beliefs. In this book she reveals she is Pro Obama, Pro universal healthcare, Pro socialist government, and anti white and thats just the first 30 minutes. I've always been a big fan of V.I.. I even have the Kathleen Turner movie and thought she was a great choice for the part. But for this book i'll have to rethink my choices next time. I'll probably still buy the book because V.I. is a lively protagonist.

Audible misleads you on this one
Revisado: 01-15-10
This is NOT a Sean Dillon novel. Dillon is in the first couple of chapters and thats it.I would not have purchased this book if I was not mislead like this. That being said, the book was fair although without the intensity of a Dillon novel. Audible needs to review books closer to make sure the protagonist is who they say it is.

Revisado: 01-08-10
W.E.B. Griffin is by far the best author of the Military genre. He uses actual true historical events adds in his own twist, throws in interesting characters and puts the reader right into the action. This book explains a lot about how Air America started. Fasten your seat belts and put your tray tables in their upright and locked positions, it's going to be a wild ride!

It is the week before Christmas. A tanking economy has prompted Dr. Kay Scarpetta - despite her busy schedule and her continuing work as the senior forensic analyst for CNN - to offer her services pro bono to New York City's Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. In no time at all, her increased visibility seems to precipitate a string of unexpected and unsettling events.

Disappointed
Revisado: 10-22-09
I've found since the "death" of Benton Wesley that the books have taken a very dark turn. There doesn't seem to be any joy in them at all. Even when they win there is no sense of triumph. Any sense of happiness seems to be out of obligation rather than emotion. I'm not buying this version of Marino at all. He has had such a sense of honor and duty in previous books that to accept this version is a stretch. There needs to be a book of healing to bring the characters back to life. When I started this book, I thought this could be the one but was disappointed to find I was wrong.NO healing began until the last 4 pages.
