Historia
West Hall, Vermont, has always been a town of strange disappearances and old legends. The most mysterious is that of Sara Harrison Shea, who, in 1908, was found dead in the field behind her house just months after the tragic death of her daughter, Gertie. Now, in present day, 19-year-old Ruthie lives in Sara's farmhouse with her mother, Alice, and her younger sister, Fawn. Alice has always insisted that they live off the grid, a decision that suddenly proves perilous when Ruthie wakes up one morning to find that Alice has vanished without a trace. Searching for clues, she is startled to find a copy of Sara Harrison Shea's diary....

Horrible story. Disgusting and repulsive.
Revisado: 03-16-23
Full of gore, blood and violence against animals. The narration is the only good part of the book. I hated the story especially because I am an animal lover and a vegetarian.

Letting Go describes a simple and effective means by which to let go of the obstacles to enlightenment and become free of negativity. During the many decades of the author's clinical psychiatric practice, the primary aim was to seek the most effective ways to relieve human suffering in all of its many forms. The inner mechanism of surrender was found to be of great practical benefit and is described in this book.

Nonsense!!
Revisado: 10-22-22
DNF 70%. Examples used in this crap:
1. A Pandemic, like the Flu, is psychological and caused by the Media; 2. You only get sick if you believe you will catch a disease; 3. You have physical strength if you are positive, if not, you lose physical strength; 4. You let go of a dream and it will magically manifest in your life!! Will I win the lottery?? I doubt that. And this piece of garbage goes on and on and on.

Historia
Although mostly unseen by us, moths are everywhere. And their capacity to delight astounds. Inspired by a revelatory encounter with a Poplar Hawk-moth - a huge, velvety-winged wonder wrapped in silver - James Lowen embarks on a year-long quest to celebrate the joy of Britain’s rarest and most remarkable moths. By hiking up mountains, wading through marshes and roaming by night amid ancient woodlands, James follows the trails of both Victorian collectors and present-day conservationists.

A memoir
Revisado: 08-17-22
DNF. Not Rating. After more than 6 years studying Butterflies and Moths - and breeding them in my Garden - all I can say is that this book is a Memoir. Do not get me wrong! I LOVE the huge, colourful Moths, like Luna Moths, Imperial Moths, Automeris Moths but beware: You will not learn what you need to know about Moths. It is the author's daily life and daily observation of Moths. Also, his friends lives spread throughout the book. It is so boring that I gave up reading after some hours. Unless you are interested in people's lives, you will not enjoy the book. Also, if you do not know some terms, like what is a Hawk Moth for example, he will not explain this to you. He will simply say something along the lines of "I saw a Poplar Hawk Moth" or an "Elephant Hawk Moth" in my garden. And that is it! Even though I know all genres and species by name, it did not add anything to my life, enjoyment or knowledge that "He saw a Hawk Moth". As I said before, only read it if you are interested in "his" life, not in learning about Moths.

DNF. When the protagonists physical attraction, sex, one-night stands, flirtation, physical attributes are more important than intelligence, emotional connection, good conversations, deep feelings I do NOT continue reading the book. Now, "go to bed", "go to bed", "go to bed".... The last time I have tried books by Gerri Hill.

Historia
Nine strangers receive a list with their names on it in the mail. Nothing else, just a list of names on a single sheet of paper. None of the nine people know or have ever met the others on the list. They dismiss it as junk mail, a fluke—until very, very bad things begin happening to people on the list. First, a well-liked old man is drowned on a beach in the small town of Kennewick, Maine. Then, a father is shot in the back while running through his quiet neighborhood in suburban Massachusetts. A frightening pattern is emerging, but what do these nine people have in common?

I REALLY don't care if all the characters die or not. NOT A SINGLE PROTAGONIST I liked. Heavy drinking, drugs, promiscuity, use of medication. The story is dirty and disgusting.

Historia
Books are Rosie Taft’s life. And ever since she took over her mother’s beloved Manhattan bookstore, they’ve become her home too. The only thing missing is her own real-life romance like the ones she loves to read about, and Rosie has an idea of who she might like to sweep her off her feet. She’s struck up a flirty online friendship with lesbian romance author Brie, and what could be more romantic than falling in love with her favorite author?

Shallow
Revisado: 04-19-22
DNF 20%. Empty, shallow, devoid of feelings. Just drinking, staring at women's bodies and a fact that is nagging on me: What is the problem of demolishing a bookstore to build a building - you see, both are "buildings". It is not as if you would demolish a Nature reserve or a park full of trees to build something - THAT WOULD BE A GREAT LOSS!! This made the book more shallow - money, property, stores, clothes, women's bodies... you have everything revolving around Capitalism... so, NO, THANK YOU!! Zero stars for the author!

Historia
As M. E. Thomas says of her fellow sociopaths, we are your neighbors, co-workers, and quite possibly the people closest to you: lovers, family, friends. Our risk-seeking behavior and general fearlessness are thrilling, our glibness and charm alluring. Our often quick wit and outside-the-box thinking make us appear intelligent - even brilliant. We climb the corporate ladder faster than the rest, and appear to have limitless self-confidence.... Who are we? We are highly successful, non-criminal sociopaths and we comprise 4% of the American population (that's 1 in 25 people!).
