Historia
Internationally best-selling author Lyndsay Faye became enamored with tales of Sherlock Holmes and his esteemed biographer, Dr. John Watson, as a child and later began spinning these quintessential characters into her own works of fiction - from her acclaimed debut novel, Dust and Shadow, which pitted the famous detective against Jack the Ripper, to a series of short stories for the Strand Magazine, whose predecessor published the very first Sherlock Holmes short story in 1891.

Brilliant
Revisado: 04-14-22
If you are indeed a fan of Sherlock Holmes this book is a brilliant substitution for Doyle’s original writings. Simon Vance, as always, was excellent as orator.

Historia
Clive Barker has made his mark on modern fiction by exposing all that is surreal and magical in the ordinary world - and exploring the profound and overwhelming terror that results. With its volatile mix of the fantastical and the contemporary, the everyday and the otherworldly, Weaveworld is an epic work of dark fantasy and horror - a tour de force from one of today's most forceful and imaginative artists.

Slow plot development
Revisado: 03-30-22
I do not recommend unless you are a big fan of Clive Barker or Simon Vance. The author loves to over use mildly applicable adjectives and the plot development is quite slow. Without Simon Vance, I would have stopped at about half way through.

The story is so weak that even Simon Vance can’t save it. I listened to all 4 books thinking it would improve. Did not happen

Tragedy has struck His Majesty's Aerial Corps, whose magnificent fleet of fighting dragons and their human captains valiantly defend England's shores against the encroaching armies of Napoleon Bonaparte. Masterpiece !
Revisado: 11-13-18
The story is magnificently written by Ms. Novik. The personalities are developed brilliantly and the peerless abilities of Simon Vance to utilize his oratorical skills make these nine books one of the best fantasy series I have ever listened to. If you love long complicated fantasies then these books will give you hours and hours of great enjoyment.

tremendous fantasy Quadrilogy
Revisado: 03-07-18
If you could sum up The Lore of the Evermen in three words, what would they be?
That is impossible
Who was your favorite character and why?
Mere-Ro, Tremendous moral character with a rational decision making, at it's finest. He takes the high road always even at his own peril but makes correct decisions at every turn. Morality with extreme sympathy but willing to sacrifice himself first.
Which character – as performed by Simon Vance – was your favorite?
same as above
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
no, but not because it wasn't good enough. it was so good that I wanted to make it last as long as possible
Any additional comments?
Trying the next Maxwell/Vance combo next and will rate it next.
