Historia
A fascinating account of the world’s most famous disease - polio - told as you have never heard it before. Epidemics of paralysis began to rage in the early 1900s, seemingly out of nowhere. Doctors, parents, and health officials were at a loss to explain why this formerly unheard-of disease began paralyzing so many children. Why did this disease start to become such a horrible problem during the late 1800s? Why did it affect children more often than adults? Why was it originally called teething paralysis by mothers and their doctors?

Detailing the patterns
Revisado: 04-02-21
Thank you for this biography. In a non aggressive way, the light is shone on how the narrative can change the perception of what is happening. Like with Covid...it follows the exact same patterns found in nearly all public health scares since the late 1800s. People, including the WHO, create distractions everywhere. The propaganda is endless.

Historia
C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and the Inklings met each week to read and discuss each other's work-in-progress, offering both encouragement and blistering critique. How did these conversations shape the books they were writing? How does creative collaboration enhance individual talent? And what can we learn from their example? Bandersnatch offers an inside look at the Inklings of Oxford, and a seat at their table at the Eagle and Child pub.

Superb!
Revisado: 06-21-18
First off, I love listening to Michael Ward. His voice can get you through even the driest of things. Secondly, I read this book through someone else's recommendation not really knowing what it was about. I was inspired and delighted. I had no idea it would give me cause to renew an old passion for creativity that has lain dormant for quite some time. Now, to find a tribe to write with!

Historia
In an age when respect and honor seem like distant and antiquated relics, how can we equip boys to pursue valor and courageously put the needs of others before their own? This book helps parents to inspire their boys by captivating their imagination and honoring their love for adventure. Heather Haupt explores how knights historically lived out various aspects of the knights' Code of Chivalry, as depicted in the French epic Song of Roland, and how boys can embody these same ideals now.

Boy moms be inspired in a doable way!
Revisado: 11-13-17
From the moment I started listening to this I just wanted to focus solely on it. I kept making bookmarks for my husband to listen to and for me to specifically remember certain bits. I've recommended it to every boy mom I know.
When I started reading this book I went into it with curiosity but feeling that I was reading just another boy mom book. But Heather's voice is just so personable. You can tell that these things she put into practice with her boys built her up instead of wearing her down with more to do. It made me get excited about stepping out in another boy adventure and as a mom with four boys I'm in the thick of it. I wanted to try it all. I kept telling my boys about what I was listening to and what I was excited about putting into practice with them. They would ask everyday if I had finished the knight book yet. We are all excited to start this adventure. It's been a wonderful change for our home... And it's not wearing me out! Thank you Heather.

Challenging, Exciting, Heartwarming, Honest, Raw
Revisado: 03-22-16
The story should challenge all of us to follow our own dreams; support the dreams of others and take a look at the way we eat differently.
The reader reads in such a way you feel it's his own story. You can hear the emotion as he reads.
One or two slow spots, but it's worth staying through to the end.
