Pretty good
Revisado: 11-19-23
It was a touch slow in the beginning but as more information became available it picked up. I enjoyed the podcast approach as this was the 2nd book that a podcast was used to discover more evidence for a cold case.

One of my favorites
Revisado: 11-04-23
The book and movie came out prior to my existence. Once I grew up, it wasn't a movie I wanted to watch. It was not until my late 20s that I found out it was a book and wanted to read it but never found the time. Listening to it now 10 years later was a great choice. I can appreciate the time period it was written in and the emotion it emotes. It was well done, and I love hearing about the decades long journey all the women go through.

Historia
After his December 2003 arrest, registered nurse Charlie Cullen was quickly dubbed "The Angel of Death" by the media. But Cullen was no mercy killer, nor was he a simple monster. He was a favorite son, husband, beloved father, best friend, and celebrated caregiver. Implicated in the deaths of as many as 300 patients, he was also perhaps the most prolific serial killer in American history.

Wonderful Background Information
Revisado: 10-29-23
I "enjoyed" listening to this recounting of this man's rampage in the healthcare system. The writing itself was a bit off. I'm not used to hearing non-fiction in this way and do not particularly care for it. The conversations portrayed were awkward, to say the least.
Overall, the information provided was thorough. I read many of the reviews who wanted to know why Charles did what he did and that the author failed to provide this. However, I think this motive was missing because Charles himself did not really know why he was doing it. Also, this man was mentally ill, and that's enough reason for me to understand how he could. Does it make it right? No, not in the slightest.
I am enraged with the healthcare system, allowing this to happen for as long as it did. He was a monster who was given countless opportunities to keep murdering people, and the administration covered it up for 16 years.

Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

Wonderful Listen
Revisado: 05-13-23
I loved this book! I do wish there was more Marcellus however, his chapters were artfully placed and the author reading him was skillfully chosen. The storyline was great and it moved at a wonderful speed. At the first mention of Cameron, I wondered why he talking and then it all made sense in the end. I recommended this to a friend as I loved it so much and I never make recommendations.

I like the lightheartedness of the crimes. It is indeed a break from the hard core true crime stories that we get from everyone else.

They were a perfect and beautiful family - until a heartbreaking tragedy shattered their happiness. Now, for the sake of an inheritance that will ensure their future, the children must be hidden away out of sight, as if they never existed. Wow...just wow
Revisado: 03-19-23
This book came to me as a recommendation from my mom who did not know the plot line outside of children who spent 3 years in an attic.
Fast forward 1.5 years and she had watched the movies while I started listening to the book. The story was well written but I am so angry with the mother and grandmother in this story. Definitely narcissistic and evil women. Those are some strong kids and I hate that their lives were robbed of the innocence that childhood should bring.

Seth Grahame-Smith delivers the definitive, essential guide to making it through a horror movie in one piece. As hilarious as it is useful (if you’re trapped in a scary flick, that is), How to Survive a Horror Movie covers all the bases. Trapped in a haunted house? Check. Stalked by an evil doll? Check. Wandering aimlessly through the remains of the old world as a plague of zombies sweeps over the planet? Check.

I don't particularly watch horror movies, but I still imagine these stereotypes or plot lines. I chuckle quite a bit listening to this book.
I learn something new every time I listen, and I have listened a lot.

Still pretty decent
Revisado: 01-10-22
I like cozy mysteries and this one isn't bad. I have some nitpicky stuff that I don't care for such as Holly referring to her tummy like she's 6 years old. The killer seems to threaten her when she's trying to get gossip like most people in this town. Why do they only threaten her? The men folk do seem to fawn and cater to her whims the whole time. Overall, a decent listen and I'll stick it out to the end. I just might get the 3rd book.

Witches and glitches and testicle-obsessed cats...Oh my. One dilemma down and approximately 74,876,283 to go. I think being the Shifter Whisperer is hard - or Shifter Wanker as I enjoy referring to my new job - but healing wounded Shifters is easy compared to finding and eliminating the lurking freaking evil. Throw in a ghost, a potentially explosive ex-cellmate, a long lost dad and a smokin' hot werewolf who's convinced he's my mate, and suddenly it's party time - from hell. And this is my mission?

Historia
Vampyres don't exist. They absolutely do not exist. At least I didn't think they did 'til I tried to quit smoking and ended up Undead. Who in the hell did I screw over in a former life that my getting healthy equates with dead? Now I'm a Vampyre. Yes, we exist whether we want to or not. However, I have to admit, the perks aren't bad. My girls no longer jiggle, my ass is higher than a kite, and the latest Prada keeps finding its way to my wardrobe.

Not what I thought
Revisado: 07-08-21
I read through the reviews and was scared to start this book. I was very shocked to hear the narrator's voice as she sounds very "valley girl" for lack of a better term. However, after listening for about 10 minutes, I loved the way her voice fit the character. She really brought Astrid to life and felt like we could be besties. Overall, a really good book. I'm Sailor and I blushed at the amount of foul language in the book. Final note: Ethan sounds amazingly hot!
