Historia
While running in Central Park, New York Times science writer Damon Ellis crashes—literally—into a story that just might resurrect his career…and change the course of human history. On the face of it, it seems absurd—a small biotech company in Boston called Calypso that claims to have cracked the secret of eternal youth. Surely a hoax. Or is it?

Loved all the performers. Great idea and interesting story. If I remember my science, I think there might be something off. I don't want to give a spoiler, so just think about blood types and how they interact (but this is fiction, so whatever).

Historia
Against the backdrop of worldwide, unexplainable natural disasters, Dr. Virginia Marilyn Edwards (Emmy Award-winner Kerry Washington) seeks out Agent Scott Thomas (Emmy Award-winner Laurence Fishburne) at a secretive government headquarters. Virginia claims these events are signs, and unless Agent Thomas helps her, she believes things will only get worse. Her desperation is dialed up higher with a shocking proclamation as she stands before him pregnant, weak, and weary: “Agent Thomas,” she says, “I believe I am Mary.”

Loved story till reviews told of major mistakes
Revisado: 09-02-22
Okay, I have not read the entire Bible and I am a "lazy" Christian. That meaning I do not go to church enough, I love the Lord, try to make good decisions and be a light. I do not attend study groups or research the Bible. I am human and have to try again each day.I just chose to listen because it was free and the concept was interesting.
I took the approach of it being a different look at the Bible and a story to gather in people who wanted to hear about Christianity, but wanted modern-day language and the ability to relate better to the people from the Bibe. I do not know what the verses or chapters include. I just know the basics, so I totally missed the wrong section being referred when saying the wrong prayer was called the Lord's Prayer. That is a big mistake that many are catching and a disappointment, unless it was intentional and to be explained later??
The acting was brilliant! Amazing cast that made the story fly.
Yes parts are unreasonable, but remember in this story God is at work and All Things Can Be Done Through God! So unrational, yes, but it is about God and he doesn't have to conform. So those things didn't bother me. I did get confused a few times but worked it out. I would've loved more details about Jonah (and others) but author chose a type of forgetting or amnesia. Possible time restrictions prevented expansion of stories?
Overall, I really enjoyed the "story." Unless a future production explains what many are saying are mistakes (or it was intentional & will provide explanation) I am going with a 3 overall because it looks like poor research and that does lower the quality.
I do look forward to future podcasts and hope more diligence will given to research & history. I recommend as long as listeners go in with an open mind realizing it is a fictional story that has a different twist on the birth of Christ.

Historia
Jake Tiptree has a problem. A coven of self-styled witches has taken over her Eastport, Maine, waterfront rental property for Halloween - and their repair requests are annoyingly frequent. But while Jake is normally game to take on any fixer-upper challenge, she'd rather be tackling her own needed repairs on her 1823 Federal-style home. Until, that is, preacher Gene Dibble turns up dead - and the whole town is convinced that Jake and her tenants are up to sorcery and skullduggery.

Not happy
Revisado: 05-11-22
Spoiler: some characters are needed to bring humor to stories and annoying habits to pester main characters. Well this book quickly killed off such a character (it all happens in this one book) that I liked and didn't give a good enough details. Just hints then done, gone.
Plus the main storyline was a bit weird and the amount of times Jake hit her head should have had her in hospital with a concussion. It seems the formula for the books is really reaching for stories, having repeated bad decisions, and now adding in extra deaths.
Started listening because included in membership and debating on continuing. I think I'll try one more, because free, and see how it goes.

Heads up, there are sound effects and music
Revisado: 01-13-22
I mostly enjoyed listening. There was one character that was annoying and not properly represented, the Doctor at the residential program. I do not think that someone with that amount of education would treat patients with that tone of voice nor be so patronizing. There are times where sound effects are used in place of words, but that did not bother me. Some things that mildly annoyed me became clear by the end of the book so that fixed the issue. It was fast paced and did not seem to have lag in storyline. I was able to keep up with majority of names and mostly understand where minor characters fit into scences. There were just two very minor ones I missed but it wasn't important. Overall I enjoyed listening and would listen again.

Ernestine “Ernie” Terwilliger has put her dreams aside to look after her eccentric mother. Case in point: saving her from a mysterious stranger who’s just stormed the terrified woman’s antique store wearing a rattlesnake tattoo, leveling threats, and brandishing the weirdest deck of cards Ernie’s ever seen. When Ernie grabs some of the cards and runs, she’s launched into a world she never knew existed - one her mother may know more about than she’s revealing. With a handful of stolen cards, Ernie has just been made an unwilling player in a game of good versus evil.

Laughed a little
Revisado: 01-21-21
Ok, I looked up when the first book was published (August 1996) and that equals 26 years! I truly believe a choice can be made and the series could continue. Love Stephanie Plum and all the characters and I liked this one better than some of the last few books. I just think it's time for the character Stephanie to grow a little more. This is the same formula as many of the series. Character still doesn't know what she wants to do for a career (maybe she is already doing it and just needs to take classes to get better), still can not decide between two guys (don't many of us wish we had this problem), and another needy character joins her group for a bit. Not sure what author wants character to do, but it seems like something tragic will have to happen for this her to pick a guy and a career. Either way it's time for some change please. Btw I'm a team Ranger fan but get upset when there is an implication that Joe is with someone else. So, I am also annoyingly torn between the two.

When a fellow US Marshal asks Anita Blake to fly to a tiny community in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula on an emergency consult, she knows time is running short. When she arrives, there is plenty of proof that a young wereleopard killed his uncle in the most gruesome and bloody way possible. As the mounting evidence points to him, a warrant of execution is already under way. But something seems off about the murder, and Anita has been asked for her expert opinion on the crime scene.

Not my favorite
Revisado: 09-18-20
Murder mystery was good but too much dialogue about Anita's personal life. I think I am at the point in series where getting a lot of backstory is distracting from current story and extremely annoying. As a devoted reader I almost feel punished. I understand writing so new readers do not have to start at the beginning to enjoy a book. The other side of that is having to reread a lot of repeated material. This story does not have Anita engaging in any physical sex, so some readers may appreciate that aspect. The story happens in a very short amount of time, so with the circumstances set as they were I can understand that element not being included. So other than too much backstory and enduring a slow learning curve due to sociopathy, I liked this one but not as much as some of the other books.

Historia
Clouds are brewing over Cadogan House, and recently turned vampire Merit can't tell if this is the darkness before the dawn or the calm before the storm. With the city itself in turmoil over paranormals and the state threatening to pass a paranormal-registration act, times haven't been this precarious for vampires since they came out of the closet. If only they could lay for a bit, and let the mortals calm down. But that's when the waters of Lake Michigan suddenly turn pitch black - and things really start getting ugly.

Like the story but character of Merit is a little slow figuring things out. Hoping her character growth will include a wider more skeptic view if she continues to investigate.

Twisted End
Revisado: 04-08-20
Series is pretty good so far. I like that adult heroine handles guy drama with maturity. Although, the concept of multiple guys interested at same time is annoying because it can be diminishing for self esteem of young women. Ok, off the soap box now and back to storyline... I am so happy that I found series after a lot of books were finished because this one has a shocking twist at the end that was heartbreaking. (I don't have to wait for release of next book. Yay!) You know it is good writing when it makes you dislike the author, which this one did for me. Hopefully she can repair my hearbreak as I quickly move to next book!
