Historia
Brooke Nolan is a battered child who makes an anonymous phone call about the escalating brutality in her home. When social services jeopardize her safety, condemning her to keep her father's secret, it's a glass of spilled milk at the dinner table that forces her to speak about the cruelty she's been hiding. In her pursuit of safety and justice, Brooke battles a broken system that pushes to keep her father in the home.

Required Reading
Revisado: 11-13-21
This book is mandatory reading for children of abuse and potentially for all young children. Although many may feel the content can be disturbing, it is a fact and it happens everyday. If this book prevents one child from being abused or for a victim to become a survivor it is worth it

Historia
What would it be like to see everyone as a friend? Twelve-year-old Eli D'Angelo has a genetic disorder that obliterates social inhibitions, making him irrepressibly friendly, indiscriminately trusting, and unconditionally loving toward everyone he meets. It also makes him enormously vulnerable. Eli lacks the innate skepticism that will help his peers navigate adolescence more safely - and vastly more successfully.

As the Nana of a little girl with William syndrome, this book provided not only exceptional scientific information but also an immense amount of hope for what the coming years may be like for our family. As the narrator spoke about different things Eli said and did, I had a little laugh because I had only seen and heard things like that once before for our little Haile. This book should be mandatory reading for every medical, psychological and educational professional that deals with any child with William syndrome. I have seen first-hand, especially with school officials the lack of ability to comprehend what they can expect of the child. More often than not they group kids with children that have autism. Thank you so much for sharing this story.

Historia
Justice Anthony Kennedy slipped out of the Supreme Court building on June 27, 2018, and traveled incognito to the White House to inform President Donald Trump that he was retiring, setting in motion a political process that his successor, Brett Kavanaugh, would denounce three months later as a "national disgrace" and a "circus". Justice on Trial, the definitive insider's account of Kavanaugh's appointment to the Supreme Court, is based on extraordinary access to more than 100 key figures - including the president, justices, and senators - in that ferocious political drama.

Disgusting
Revisado: 05-15-20
The treatment of Judge Kavanaugh and his family was unforgivable. Democrats should be ashamed of themselves. I hope every American remembers what was done to Judge Kavanaugh and make sure it never happens again. Many politicians should be removed from Congress for what they did and those that falsely accused him should be indicted.

Historia
After more than a decade, when sisters Nikki, Sami, and Tori Knotek hear the word mom, it claws like an eagle’s talons, triggering memories that have been their secret since childhood. Until now. For years, behind the closed doors of their farmhouse in Raymond, Washington, their sadistic mother, Shelly, subjected her girls to unimaginable abuse, degradation, torture, and psychic terrors. Through it all, Nikki, Sami, and Tori developed a defiant bond that made them far less vulnerable than Shelly imagined.

Not only did these parents fail these girls but so did the justice system. Unforgivable
