Historia
Author Kevin Lowry's journey to Catholicism is fascinating, often funny, and demonstrates God's unfailing, patient love for all of us. A preacher's kid at a Catholic university, Kevin Lowry settled into a double major in beer and billiards soon followed by uncomfortable run-ins with pious students, failing grades, increasing anxiety, a missing night, and the startling realization that some fellow students actually attended Mass the morning after a party instead of sleeping it off. After getting kicked out, Kevin got his act together, got the MBA, and also got the girl.

Interesting to hear his conversion story
Revisado: 10-27-24
I quite enjoyed this audiobook and find it incredibly interesting to hear people’s story, their life experiences that brought them to or back to the Catholic Church. The book held my interest and was amusing at times and easily understandable.

So incredibly interesting
Revisado: 08-21-24
I actually started this audiobook while also watching his video presentations on this book and I’m glad I bought this, as it goes deep into the subjects that the videos also touch on. Sometimes you can end up with verbatim in both the video and audiobooks, but I didn’t find that in this case. The subject matter Wallace shares, along with the insight he gained along his path as a detective, I found his stories to be entirely enthralling. He’s very wise, yet conveys everything in such a relatable way, so there is nothing pretentious at all about him and I appreciate even more that he narrated the audiobook himself. More like a conversation than a robotic read, which I prefer in nonfiction. Each chapter is thought provoking and will leave you with wisdom to take to heart. I haven’t listened to his other audiobooks yet, but bought another of his titles which he also narrates, so I look forward to that as well. All in all, I highly recommend this audiobook not only for Christian insight, but also for life insight. Well done.

How can you believe all this stuff? This is the number one question Catholics get asked - and, sometimes, we ask ourselves. Why We're Catholic assembles the clearest, friendliest, most helpful answers that Trent learned to give to people. Beginning with how we can know reality and ending with our hope of eternal life, it's the perfect way to help skeptics and seekers (or Catholics who want to firm up their faith) understand the evidence that bolsters our belief - and brings us joy.

Nothing short of Amazing
Revisado: 08-21-24
I’m a cradle Catholic but stopped going around 13 years of age. I’ve been on a long journey finding my way back. Trent’s words in this book spoke to my soul and cleared up things I tried to ask as a child but was dismissed by our Catechists. I wish I had been told these things back then and I would never have left. But a thing to point out to those who catechize children, don’t dismiss their questions and don’t make them feel bad for asking them or assuming that because they are young that they don’t ponder endlessly about such things. I’ve been on the fence for a couple of years, but books such as these have opened my eyes and for that it was a blessing to listen to. In addition, I’m glad he read the book himself as his passion for the subject matter comes through.

It turns out giving up your "right" to be offended can be one of the most freeing, healthy, simplifying, relaxing, refreshing, stress-relieving, encouraging things you can do. It's a radical, provocative idea: We're not entitled to get offended or stay angry. The idea of our own "righteous anger" is a myth. It is the number one problem in our societies today and, as Dallas Willard says, Christians have not been taught out of it. But what if Christians were the most unoffendable people on the planet?

Thought Provoking, Relevant, and Personable
Revisado: 01-31-23
When I first read the premise of the book, I was intrigued as I’m battling not taking issues personally and feeling “self-righteous” anger with a loved one who is in a battle with alcoholism. I am a person who doesn’t want to stay angry nor wants to sin in my anger by lashing back when I’ve been hurt. Brant made me think hard about all the instances in my life where anger led me to impulsive retribution during whirlwinds of emotion. I honestly thought that being unoffendable sound more like a pipe dream, but this book puts it into perspective and I think every Christian would benefit from hearing it. The fact that Brant narrates more like he’s talking direct to you, is absolutely a gem, because it really gets his points across and does it in a way that you feel like you’re talking with a wise friend. His narration is top notch and I hope he will always narrate his own books. I was so refreshingly surprised by how quickly I enjoyed this book that I bought his others in Audible as well. I truly recommend this to all Christians or anyone who can sometimes let anger get the best of them, even if the anger felt warranted. This is going on my favorites audiobooks list!

So incredibly profound
Revisado: 05-26-21
I can barely put into words how much this audiobook has impacted me. I’m sitting here just speechless really. I decided to also buy the physical book so I can highlight the parts I want to cement into my mind. So many strangely coincidental moments in the book for me, especially after I had become widowed at 27 and how I’ve lived my life since then, tucked away and avoiding adding anyone else into “my circle” for fear of one day losing them too. I grew up in Florida and then lived in Denver, so I could also relate to those small details. The stories were incredibly real, honest, and filled with vulnerability and heart... I’m thankful that they shared them. I also believe that the narrator of the audiobook was absolutely a perfect match and was a pleasure to listen to. I would recommend this audiobook to any Christian, heck to any human for that matter.

Revisado: 02-19-21
I initially was reluctant to buy this audiobook and also a bit “nervous” to hear the message, but Craig’s warmth comes through. He shares his vulnerability when it comes to prayer and that really helped me feel that I’m not alone and it’s natural to initially feel reluctant to truly pray these dangerous prayers. I thought this would be one that I may only listen to once, but after I’ve come to the end, I realize that it’s keeper and adding it to my essential stack. Honestly, it’s an easy listen and packed full of thought provoking and prayer provoking gems.

So glad I decided to get this title.
Revisado: 09-02-20
Honestly, I was at first not keen on the author’s narration, but I gave it a go and I’m so glad I did. This had a wealth of information for anyone studying ACIM. He really made some things truly click and I had so many lightbulb moments that I neglected to bookmark, so I will go through the title again and take more notes. I’ve now bought one of his other audiobooks, the other two in my wishlist. I’ve also bought the Kindle versions in order to highlight parts that really struck a deep resonance with me. I do highly recommend this audiobook if you are starting out with ACIM like I am. It’s brilliant.

Historia
A Course in Miracles (ACIM) - the self-study spiritual-thought system that teaches the way to love and forgiveness - has captivated the minds and captured the hearts of millions of people. Delivering inner peace where fear and pain once prevailed, its universal message is unsurpassed in its power to heal. Yet many students report that they have difficulty grasping the principles or keeping up with the lessons. So even while they yearn for the spiritual freedom the course offers, they put the book aside, hoping to get to it one day.

A New All-Time Favorite
Revisado: 08-11-20
I’m actually incredibly happy that I bought this audiobook, as I’m new to ACIM and by new I mean, I bought the initial text of ACIM when I was in my 20s and never really tried to delve into it, it just sat in my bookcase. Then something beckoned to me to maybe try again, in my now mid 40s, but I felt I needed something to guide me into it. This “made easy” truly was truly and utterly profound for me. I kept stopping the audio to go into the Kindle version and highlight it, which I also decided to order a physical book version as well, in order to have with me in my bag so I could re-read and take notes. This book was filled with aha moments for me, to which I am left almost speechless. I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in ACIM, spirituality, new thought, self-improvement, and philosophy.
