Historia
Sure, I heal faster than most, and I've got a sixth sense for brewing tea that can fix just about any problem, but my cafe isn't exactly a hotbed of paranormal activity. At least it wasn't...until some psycho attacked me and woke up the freaky, forbidden magick inside, earning me a one-way ticket to jail. Now, a covert magickal university is offering me a deal: my freedom in exchange for help with the Tarot prophecies - cryptic predictions they believe hold the key to stopping a deadly apocalyptic plot.

Wish I’d know it was RH
Revisado: 03-09-24
I love Nicole Poole, especially in Magical Midlife, but I’m getting vested and am starting to see it’s going to be a RH. I wish I’d known that. It wasn’t in the description. Not my cup of tea. I like the story, just wish I’d known. I’m putting it down now.

Over the top depressing
Revisado: 06-26-23
Ok. I’ve enjoyed C.J. Archers stories so far. And this series started well but this book is over the top with defeat and misery. At some point Josie needs to have one or two wins. This book is one bad thing after another. It’s too much.
Spoiler- she gets assaulted multiple times by multiple noblemen, almost raped for the third time, kidnapped, rejected, loses her house, and has at least three powerful people wanting her ruined. At no point does anything truly good happen - unless you include the rescues from the horrible people that has its own bad consequences. It’s too much. I tried. But when she lost her house of 25 years in half a day while in jail, I tapped out. Just far too depressing. At this point she isn’t a heroine, she’s a doormat.

Fun
Revisado: 05-26-23
I was hooked on this author through the Glass and Steele novels. This one doesn’t disappoint. Though the token gay character might turn off some, it doesn’t overpower and adds to the story.

Historia
The decision has been made. Jessie has taken the magic and all the weird that goes with it. Including wings. There's only one problem - she can't figure out how to access them. Through a series of terrible decisions, Jessie realizes she must ask for help. Gargoyle help. But she could've never predicted who answers her call - he's an excellent flier, incredibly patient, and a good trainer. He's also incredibly handsome. And interested.

So funny
Revisado: 10-01-20
I never write reviews but I have to say, the narrators voices are hysterical. So is the goofy elements in the story. There are a few serious moments but the box of rocks character made me laugh out loud. Several scenes had me giggling. Loved it!

Like the series - hate the new narrator
Revisado: 08-15-20
The new narrator is awful. Why did they change? I agree with others - Jenks voice is annoying , there is very little range of character voices or emotion, and so many things were mispronunciations, or alternate, that it was clear they hadn’t listened to the previous version. Plus, the hokey music between some chapters was irritating. I like the series and will continue to read. Not so sure about the audiobooks now.
