Historia
When Gianni Bozzacchi accepted an assignment as a photographer on the set of The Comedians (1967), he didn't know that his life was about to change forever. His ability to capture the beauty of candid moments drew the attention of the film's star, Elizabeth Taylor, and prompted her to hire him as her personal photographer.

Revisado: 04-15-17
Would you listen to My Life in Focus again? Why?
No. Good book but once was enough.
What did you like best about this story?
Showed what the stars of the time were really like...beyond the tabloids.
Which scene was your favorite?
Bar hopping with Richard Burton, Peter O'Toole and others.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Yes - two times - but don't want to give spoilers.
Any additional comments?
Good combo...very good book and good narration.

I disagree
Revisado: 02-01-17
Would you consider the audio edition of One of Their Own to be better than the print version?
Yes...in the sense that I can listen on the go.
What other book might you compare One of Their Own to and why?
The other five.
Which character – as performed by James Killavey – was your favorite?
All of them. I think he is the best of the narrators for this series so far. Glad the author is keeping him. However some don't like him ... and in these politicized days have to go to extremes. "Horrible. The worse. Sad." Sigh.
Any additional comments?
Decide for yourself about the narrator. That's what the samples there for.

Historia
Pivotal Tuesdays looks back at four pivotal presidential elections of the past 100 years to show how they shaped the 20th century. During the rowdy, four-way race in 1912 between Teddy Roosevelt, William Howard Taft, Eugene Debs, and Woodrow Wilson, the candidates grappled with the tremendous changes of industrial capitalism and how best to respond to them. In 1932, Franklin Roosevelt's promises to give Americans a "New Deal" to combat the Great Depression helped him beat the beleaguered incumbent, Herbert Hoover.

Would you consider the audio edition of Pivotal Tuesdays to be better than the print version?
Yes...was able to read it while commuting. Can't do that with print!
Which scene was your favorite?
Too many to name just one.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No..too long.
Any additional comments?
Important book..especially this year with an election coming up.

Historia
Humanity's first reusable spacecraft and the most complex machine ever built, NASA's space shuttle debuted with great promise and as a dependable source of wonder and national pride. But with the Challenger catastrophe in 1986, the whole space shuttle program came into question, as did NASA itself, so long an institution that was seemingly above reproach. Wheels Stop tells the stirring story of how, after the Challenger disaster, the space shuttle not only recovered but went on to perform its greatest missions.

What did you love best about Wheels Stop: The Tragedies and Triumphs of the Space Shuttle Program, 1986-2011?
Actually..the audio. I had read the book a few months ago but wanted to see ( or hear ) what the audio was like. If anything, the experience is even better. Less work for me and it's giving me a sense of "being there" that I didn't get with the print version.
Which character – as performed by James Killavey – was your favorite?
I was surprised to find that, while many people, including me, like the narration, a few really blasted it. Hard to see or hear why but...to each his own. Listen to the sample and decide for yourself. If you like the sample, you'll like the book. If you don't..don't buy it. Can never figure out why people don't bother to do that and then complain about the narration.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Wheels Stop sounds fine to me.
