Historia
The world fell, the invaders won, and demons now ruled what had once been man's domain. The great works of a once powerful civilization lie in ruins, its people having forgotten the wonders of their forefathers as they now live in the yoke. Not everyone is willing to go quietly into the endless night, however. Human pests still infest occasional parts of the conquered world. In one nearly uninhabitable part of that world, a very young such pest has come of age and, without understanding what it means, she walks in the shadow of destiny.

Interesting plot, cool execution
Revisado: 05-21-22
This was a pretty interesting book. Nice introduction to characters, slow revelation of plot. Recommend for a change of pace in the fantasy genre that are available free with audible plus.

Historia
Sarah and David have survived the zombie apocalypse. They stood side by side and fought mad scientists, the undead, and even bionic monsters . . . until the unthinkable happened. A zombie bite. But not even that could stop them. Now, with a possible cure in hand, they're headed east, looking for a safe zone behind the rumored "Wall." They're feeling pretty optimistic. That is, until Dave stops sleeping and starts lifting huge objects. Eat. Slay. Love. Because they haven't got a prayer.

A fun twist to Zombie stories
Revisado: 10-21-20
This was a fun read/audiobook. A zombie apocalypse with all the expected dread, tragedy and conspiracies; but narrated by an irreverent modern woman/wife. Sarcastic situations, touching realist moments, a bit of romance here and there. Overall a refreshing take for fiction lovers.

Mixed Feelings
Revisado: 07-16-20
The plot was interesting enough to carry me to the end of the book. I love fiction/fantasy with romance in the mist, and this book has them in spades. However the main characters can be so frustrating and flawed, it make them less likeable the further the book went, the fact they are teenagers can only excuse so much.
(Indirect spoilers here) Cheating is not OK, call it what you will but if there is a change of heart, end the current relationship BEFORE exploring a new one, in one scene the female character just asks for a date in front of the current girlfriend .. really?!?! Just really?!?! And then why ohh why are others angry and/or disappointed? And to top it off the male character gets angry when the girlfriend reacts to the disrespect!! Things just shouldn’t have progressed that far.
The narrator was good and engaging.

Entering but not for everyone
Revisado: 10-31-19
The plot was rather entertaining, but the main characters were annoying when interacting with each other.
The premise that a woman needs to be punished to be at peace and to know her place is insulting. I didn’t know if I should just close the book and move on, or plain laugh because of the ridiculous assumptions and behavior. The princess is annoying and childish but spanking and other such tactics do not a wise and mature person make.
Anyway, the plot against kingdoms, escape and strategy kept me going.

Historia
Award-winning poet Marisa de los Santos crafts an irresistibly touching debut novel. Love Walked In is a contemporary tale, steeped in nostalgic, cinematic charm, of love in all its forms. Unapologetically idealistic about love, Cornelia Brown appears to catch the break of a lifetime when the dashing Martin Grace, her own personal Cary Grant, comes strolling into her life. But it is Martin's connection to 11-year-old Clare Hobbes that touches Cornelia's heart in ways she never imagined.

Unexpectedly Good
Revisado: 08-08-19
The story is beautiful and sad with sprinkles of humor. It did start a bit slow; to be honest I was tempted to stop reading at the beginning but I’m grateful I didn’t. Once the story started to unfold I couldn’t drop the book.
I wish the voice of Clare were a bit more childlike (audiobook comment), I think it could have made the transitions smother and the story’s flow more realistic. I’m glad their story isn’t over, just noticed there is a series, I want to see how this love story continues to grow
