Historia
Conor Dolan, a young Irishman, travels to Chicago in 1903 to visit his older brother; instead, he finds a mystery. His journey sparks a quest to peel away secrets and rediscover a dead sibling he idolized but never really knew as he strives to learn the true meaning of brotherhood. His search reveals an Irish Republican plot to assassinate a visiting British royal. In the process, he is drawn into an alliance with two women: a mesmerizing Jewish widow and a struggling young Irishwoman. Each teaches Conor existential truths of life and love in her own way.

Loved this Story..excellent read
Revisado: 06-26-23
This book was well written with details and a story that tugs at the heart with wonderful characters. I love a good Irish tale and this could have been a story told by my family of life in early Chicago and Ireland.

Historia
There may be no tidy solutions or pithy answers to life’s big challenges, but Michelle Obama believes that we can all locate and lean on a set of tools to help us better navigate change and remain steady within flux. In The Light We Carry, she opens a frank and honest dialogue with listeners, considering the questions many of us wrestle with: How do we build enduring and honest relationships? How can we discover strength and community inside our differences? What tools do we use to address feelings of self-doubt or helplessness? What do we do when it all starts to feel like too much?

Michelle always gives me Hope.
Revisado: 01-12-23
Love taking walks and listening to audible especially with authors like my close friend Michelle. Never met her in person but I consider her a friend. Her words give me hope and a Vision of the world I wish all could see and live in. She is a wonderful human and her thoughtful sharing of her life motivates me to continue to be a positive force and to be kind to others even if they don’t think or look like me. We are all humans and essential to make this world a better place for all. Always Go High.

Historia
There is a voice of longing inside each woman. We strive so mightily to be good: good partners, daughters, mothers, employees, and friends. We hope all this striving will make us feel alive. Instead, it leaves us feeling weary, stuck, overwhelmed, and underwhelmed. We look at our lives and wonder: Wasn’t it all supposed to be more beautiful than this? We quickly silence that question, telling ourselves to be grateful, hiding our discontent—even from ourselves.

So many thoughts
Revisado: 02-05-22
Loved the awakening and made me think about things I knew but could never put them into words. I knew of the taming but always fought against the control but still went with some of the status quo. I have always said that there would be less messed up people in the world if they could live their authentic lives and be themselves. Thank you Glennon for making me thing more deeply and to understand myself and others.

In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

Amazing to hear Trevor Tell His Story
Revisado: 02-17-20
Nothing like hearing from the voice who lived it. We never know what someone has been through and amazed that Trevor has turned out to be the man that he is but then....he has an amazing Mother.
