Historia
As a coalition of species and planets fights to unseat the Imperium, Will, the only human on the Coalition War Council, is put forward as an unlikely poster boy for galactic harmony. His unremarkable home world and its unimportant species—humans—have come to the aid of a greater galaxy they didn't even know existed. With each battle won, breaking the shackles of the Imperium seems not only possible but inevitable… until old grievances and simmering rivalries spring up among the Coalition.

Good story, but the ending was illogical and inconsistent with the normal quality of the work.

Historia
The revelations Mark Tudor unearthed on Tactus Ares were profound. The Piraxians fell victim to the aggressive, expansionist Eridani Federation. That same confederacy funded and facilitated the Lyrae. They made Stillness. And the Guild was complicit. How does one bring exposure to something the galaxy at large would rather forget? And how does an honorable man remove corruption when its gravity consumes all? A plan is hatched in secret.

Good read but it could be more succinct in places
Revisado: 11-03-24
The storyline, the characters and the thought put in were all extremely good. My only minor frustration was that in more than one place, it took a while to resolve some of the subplots. Overall, I recommended it.

Historia
US intelligence is reporting turmoil in the Russian navy. Their deadliest submarine, the Belgorod, has unexpectedly launched, and taken along with it a long list of questions. Who authorized the departure? What mission is it on? And, most disturbing of all, what weapons do the giant doors on the sub’s bow hide? It's been four decades since a similar incident with the Soviet sub, Red October, ended happily, thanks to a young CIA analyst named Jack Ryan.

Historia
Michael Crichton, creator of Jurassic Park, ER, Twister, and Westworld, had a passion project he’d been pursuing for years, ahead of his untimely passing in 2008. Knowing how special it was, his wife, Sherri Crichton, held back his notes and the partial manuscript until she found the right author to complete it: James Patterson, the world’s most popular storyteller.

Sorry to cliché
Revisado: 06-16-24
To be honest, I didn’t finish. The dangers and the solutions all seemed too cliché. Some of the solutions proposed I do not believe would be workable. I really like these authors, but did not like this book.

Historia
One Navy admiral called it "one of the greatest unsolved sea mysteries of our era". To this day, the U.S. Navy officially describes it an inexplicable accident. For decades, the real story of the disaster has eluded journalists, historians, and the family members of the lost crew. But a small handful of Navy and government officials knew the truth from the very beginning: the sinking of the nuclear submarine U.S.S. Scorpion and its crew of 99 men, on May 22, 1968, was an act of war.

While laced with science fiction this story is an expertly written hard look at what we think drives our sense of right and wrong. I appreciate the flaws in the characters and the thoughts surrounding sacrifice. Very thought provoking.

True to all the other books in the series but long ago the plots gravitated towards impossible set ups and then BS as the solution. I’d like to see the storyline take on some new dimensions.
