Historia
In Eat Dirt, Dr. Axe explains that it's essential to get a little "dirty" in our daily lives in order to support our gut bacteria and prevent leaky gut syndrome. Dr. Axe offers simple ways to get these needed microbes, from incorporating local honey and bee pollen into your diet to forgoing hand sanitizers and even ingesting a little probiotic-rich soil.

More than a leaky gut book
Revisado: 06-25-19
While the book focuses on leaky gut it also gives a great deal of dietary advice not just for leaky gut but what you should be eating and not eating in general.
Very easy for common folks to understand.
Highly recommended!

Historia
In The Microbiome Solution, Dr. Robynne Chutkan, a preeminent gastroenterologist, explains how the standard Western diet and our super-sanitized lifestyles are starving our microbiomes, depleting the "good bugs" that are crucial for keeping us healthy, and encouraging overgrowth of exactly the wrong types of bacteria, which can leave us vulnerable to a host of autoimmune and chronic health conditions.

Repetitive
Revisado: 06-19-19
Three or a LOW four stars would be more fair but I’m giving this book one star to counter it’s far too high 4.6 stars.
The book is overly repetitive and like the the top review says

Historia
Stuart Goldman convincingly argues that a little-known, but intense, Soviet-Japanese conflict along the Manchurian- Mongolian frontier at Nomonhan influenced the outbreak of World War II and shaped the course of the war. The author draws on Japanese, Soviet, and western sources to put the seemingly obscure conflict - actually a small undeclared war - into its proper global geo-strategic perspective. The book describes how the Soviets, in response to a border conflict provoked by Japan, launched an offensive in August 1939 that wiped out the Japanese forces at Nomonhan.

Historia
An intimate friend of Adolf Hitler’s who turned against him during the Nazi rise to power delves into the character of one of history’s most evil dictators. Of American and German parentage, Ernst Hanfstaengl graduated from Harvard and ran the family business in New York for a dozen years before returning to Germany in 1921. By chance he heard a then little-known Adolf Hitler speaking in a Munich beer hall and, mesmerized by his extraordinary oratorical power, was convinced the man would some day come to power. As Hitler’s fanatical theories and ideas hardened, however, he surrounded himself with rabid extremists...

Hitler the man
Revisado: 04-14-17
I conclude the low ratings given to this book are because people still do not want to hear anything about Hitler that suggest he was a half decent man with a great sense of humor.
This is a rare ten hour book that is worth a credit.

Although the courts have struggled to balance the interests of individuals, businesses, and law enforcement, the proliferation of intrusive new technologies puts many of our presumed freedoms in legal limbo. For instance, it's not hard to envision a day when websites such as Facebook or Google Maps introduce a feature that allows real-time tracking of anyone you want, based on face-recognition software and ubiquitous live video feeds.

Historia
It was on the Silk Roads that East and West first encountered each other through trade and conquest, leading to the spread of ideas, cultures, and religions, and it was the appetites for foreign goods that drove economies and the growth of nations. From the first cities in Mesopotamia to the emergence of Greece and Rome to the depredations by the Mongols, the transmission of the Black Death, the struggles of the Great Game, and the fall of Communism - the fate of the West has always been inextricably linked to the East.

Kershaw the Liar
Revisado: 03-29-17
The author states that in 1936 no country saw Joseph Stalin as a threat!
Really anyone who knows history knows this is an outright Lie.
Tell that to the Ukrainians who Stalin starved & forced them to eat their children!
It makes one wonder how many other lies are told in regards to Adolph Hitler to convince the world everything he did & said was nonsense.
I for one have had a bellyful
Unless you wish to be misled skip this one the reader is almost as bad as the writer. Not recommended.

Dirty laundry
Revisado: 03-27-17
If you can stomach the everything Germany did was wrong attitude the author had ( & there wasn't much of that ) then you should enjoy this book.
The book begins with hero worship for Patton and Doug but as the story goes along I start to wonder if he doesn't hate those two as much as Hitler.
A lot of dirty laundry in those three closets and the author takes no prisoners so enjoy this one is a high four stars. Recommended.

Historia
The First World War is one of history’s greatest tragedies. In this remarkable and intimate account, author G. J. Meyer draws on exhaustive research to bring to life the story of how the Great War reduced Europe’s mightiest empires to rubble, killed 20 million people, and cracked the foundations of the world we live in today. World War I is unique in the number of questions about it that remain unsettled. After more than 90 years, scholars remain divided on these questions, and it seems likely that they always will.

This book gives a brief overview of medieval Europe going all the way back to the 8th century which really helped me understand the tragedy of the First World War.
The eastern theatre was also covered very well.
The best overview of the First World War I have read. Highly recommended.
