Quite an amazing book for Ray and film lovers. But the narration is very juvenile and distracted from the book.

sweeping story, vast themes, masterfully told and beautifully narrated. wouldn't recommend it as a first Hesse novel, but if you've read and loved his other works, this one will leave you deeply satisfied.
