Historia
The “mountain men” were the hunters and trappers who fiercely strode the Rocky Mountains in the early to mid-1800s. They braved the elements in search of the skins of beavers and other wild animals, to sell or barter for goods. The lifestyle of the mountain men could be harsh, existing as they did among animals, and spending most of their days and nights living and camping out in the great unexplored wilds of the Rockies.

Good for boys
Revisado: 05-12-14
I purchased this for one of my "would rather do physical labor than read" boys. I put it on an iPod for him and he listened to it while working, and driving. He actually listened to the whole thing, and said it was good. He liked the shorter story aspect of it rather than a long form novel.

boys love this book
Revisado: 02-18-14
My students love this book so much that I have had to buy replacement hard copies and make sure I had the audio for non-print readers, so they could get in on the action, too.

Compelling story
Revisado: 03-21-13
We teach this book in my high school and use the audio to help auditory readers understand the plot. The narrators sound like they could be kids at our school.

Historia
Holling Hoodhood is really in for it. He's just started seventh grade with Mrs. Baker, a teacher he knows is out to get him. The year is 1967, and everyone has bigger things to worry about, especially Vietnam. Then there's the family business. As far as Holling's father is concerned, the Hoodhoods need to be on their best behavior: the success of Hoodhood and Associates depends on it.

Made me laugh and think.
Revisado: 03-21-13
Would you consider the audio edition of The Wednesday Wars to be better than the print version?
Yes, I would rather listen to this story, it it funny and that comes across better in the audio.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Wednesday Wars?
Holling being convinced that the teacher hated him--she actually might have, he was the only one in her classroom every afternoon.
Have you listened to any of Joel Johnstone’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
First one for me.
