Historia
George Hunt can think of nothing he’d like more than to skip the high-society fundraiser where he has to guard a precocious seventeen-year-old girl and her judgmental therapist, but there’s no way out of it. If anything bad were to happen and he wasn’t there to stop it, he’d never forgive himself. So even though she’s grilling him about his dating life and the good doctor is psychoanalyzing him, he’s going to soldier on, because protecting his charges is what a knight does.

Disappointed…
Revisado: 02-17-25
Compared to the Marshals series, which is my #1 series from anyone, this was dull. I know George from the Marshals, but I could see no reason for him to be interested in the therapist, who was stuffy. I was surprised to read in other reviews that he was more lively in MC’s newsletter, which I do not get. That was annoying, and the narrator’s voice of the therapist made him sound old, and without much of a personality, other than being judgmental. He actually sounded at times like Dr. Craig Hartley, from Ian and Miro’s story, only without his energy and passion. The story was a disservice to the character of George, not to mention readers. It takes place over a matter of hours, going from George being tricked into a setup with the therapist, to the celebrity fundraiser, kidnapping, resolution, and ending with the two of them together. Too rushed, and not enough backstory to make it interesting. Usually I immediately buy the next book in series, but I don’t think I could take a whole book of the boring doctor.

Least favorite in the series
Revisado: 08-23-23
I have many May Archer books in my library, but I’m sorry to say that this one was frustrating and hard to enjoy. Way too much angst between Parker and Jamie, too much whining. Back and forth, just when you thought they’d worked everything out, one of them would jump to the worst conclusion and rush off angry or whining “poor me”. I found myself so annoyed with them, I almost didn’t care what happened to them. The ending was better than the rest of the book.

Historia
You belong to me and I know it down deep, in muscle and bone, where my wolf lives. Avery Rhine isn’t an average homicide detective with the Chicago PD. In fact, Avery isn’t an average anything. Sure, as an omega he knows he’s at the bottom of the food chain, but that’s never slowed him down. He’s got a great life, complete with a loving family and a best friend who’d take a bullet for him, so what more could he possibly want or need? Except, maybe, for the world to change.

Great story!
Revisado: 07-17-22
I enjoyed the heck out of this book. Liked both the MCs a lot, especially Graeme, They we’re both unsettled by their differences, especially Graeme getting used to an Omega who had been raised equally with Alpha siblings. I chuckled and laughed out loud at some of their puzzled interactions. Rine’s mother was awesome, lovable, and fun to listen to. Greg Boudreaux did a fine job with narration. His men were great, and his women were distinguishable without the shrill whining many male narrators offer.

Interesting story and characters, I struggled with narrator
Revisado: 06-19-22
I am usually not much for supernatural stories, but there isn’t really that much, and it’s done in a believable way. The main idea is a daughter and mother who each flee from their home for different reasons. Their journey back to home and reconciliation is heartwarming, and although they have some struggles with their fixations on what they perceive as their internal problems, most of the conflict via townspeople from dangerous questions asked by the daughter about two deaths that her grandmother had been held responsible for, without any evidence or trial. It’s a wonderful story, and even though there are a couple of very sad parts, I enjoyed the ending.
The narrator was difficult for me to listen to, and several times I almost quit with the intention of getting a copy to read rather than listen to. Her voice was nearly a whisper, and seemed very childish or weak, which didn’t seem consistent with with women that had hardened themselves to deal with their lots in life. I found it very annoying, but about halfway I got used to it and finished. And I will say I thought she did a good job with Andrew’s voice.

Historia
For the first time New York Times bestselling author Christopher Rice writes as C. Travis Rice. Under his pen name, Rice offers tales of passion, intrigue, and steamy romance between men. The first novel, SAPPHIRE SUNSET, transports you to a beautiful luxury resort on the sparkling Southern California coast where strong-willed heroes release the shame that blocks their heart's desires.

I really liked this book!
Revisado: 06-13-22
This is one of the most entertaining books I’ve listened to in a long time. It held my attention for the entire 16+ hours, and not once did I think of skipping ahead. The MCs are not perfect but so likable! Their relationship has its stumbles, but with their commitment and the help of friends and family, they make their way through. There is conflict with a criminal relative, but even he is complex and has his saving graces. This is not, as some books are, a romance with a shallow story to support it. This story has detail and richness to it. Even supporting characters are developed so that you understand and appreciate them. I look forward to Sapphire Cove (book 2) in September, and I hope many more.

Revisado: 03-18-22
I liked this book from beginning to end, and think Sean Crisden is an amazing narrator. I was so caught up with the relationship between Jack and Riley, as well as the family secrets and drama, that I didn’t do what I normally do, which is look ahead for hints! I just let the story absorb me, and savored every minute of it. Looking forward to Book 2!

Pretty disappointing…
Revisado: 03-07-22
The last two books in the series have been frustrating, especially the endings. I feel like if there’s another book, we are just waiting for the final death knell of the relationship. I read that Book 5 was supposed to be out in late 2020, but it’s 2022 and I don’t see any sign of it. To have Jason be so shocked that Sam felt betrayed by Jason’s hiding the truth about his grandfather was disingenuous, then he feels betrayed because Sam feels betrayed! And always running off by himself to confront the bad guys, that’s just ridiculous. That’s what partners, and Sam, are for. The one scene in which Sam and Jason have dinner with friends in Bozeman and Jason sees a completely different side of Sam is covered in one sentence. Why not give is some details to make us feel like they aren’t just cardboard characters? I will also mention at this point that it’s Bozeman (with a long o sound), not Bahzman. Check pronunciations! No wonder you didn’t try to tackle Butte.
I’ve read a dozen or so Josh Lanyon books. Most of those I’ve really enjoyed, and reread. This series I need to see light at the end of the tunnel to go on.

Historia
No strangers to evil, criminal profiler Reni Fisher and detective Daniel Ellis both still grapple with traumatizing pasts. It unites them. So has a crime they must solve before someone else dies. At a campsite on California’s Pacific Crest Trail, a guide is murdered and three young hikers vanish without a trace. The only lead is a puzzle in itself: a video of the crime scene, looking eerily staged, uploaded to social media. The girl who posted it can’t be found. Is it a viral hoax gone unspeakably wrong, or is there something more sinister at play in the forest?

Another great book!
Revisado: 02-28-22
Just like “Find Me”, “Tell Me” was riveting. Good suspense, great bond between Daniel and Reni. Good plot twists and turns, some expected, some not. One of the things I like most of these two books is the detail of each scene. They are drawn out perfectly, almost like real time, and not the good guys just rushing in and quickly wrapping things up. Also, another perfect ending. These are my first two Anne Frasier books, what a start! Great narration, too.
