Life Changing!
Revisado: 09-26-23
This novel truly changed my perspective on living in the moment! Taking each of life’s opportunities to love and making memories with the people who matter most! Also, to take the chance on new adventures! You never know the outcome!

Historia
Khalil Rafati went to Los Angeles in the 1990s and had it all. He was working with Hollywood movie stars and legendary rock musicians, but it wasn't long before he found his way into the dark underbelly of the City of Angels. When he hit rock bottom-addicted to heroin and cocaine, overtaken by paranoia and psychosis, written off by his friends and family - he grabbed a shovel and kept digging. So how does someone with nothing, who feels like they deserve nothing, and who just wants to end it all turn their life around?

Truly Amazing!
Revisado: 09-23-23
I first heard Khalil on The Skinny Confidential podcast! When I listened to him tell his story on the podcast, I thought how freaking insane! This guy from Ohio (enjoyed this bc I’m also from Ohio 🤷🏻♀️) moved to Cali for this dream life —totally relatable I mean Hollywood! — and ends up totally f****d. So I’ve wanted to read his book ever since I heard that podcast!
This is an incredible story! He was remarkably vulnerable and shared all the details of what it was like for him to be at his worst but also, shared how he was able to recover and become a truly successful person!

Amazing pov
Revisado: 02-17-23
I absolutely loved how the author wrote with such truth even though it wasn’t her reality. She showed a pov of the women who stay with these abusive partners. It’s usually because of their children and financial issues.
And why is it that we don’t ever ask why the man is abusive instead of wondering why these women stay.
