Historia
Hal's triumph over the Tower of Blight should have left his settlement of Brightsong stronger than ever. Instead, it left them without a leader, and their strongest members were sent halfway across the world. Trading frigid cold for unrelenting heat, the Dunes of Midnight are no less vicious than the Shiverglades. Beastmen attack the outskirts of civilization while the Adventurer's Guild falls to ruins. Wanting nothing more than to return home before the tribes of the Shiverglades arrive on Brightsong's doorstep, Hal seeks answers in the metropolis of Dalmanii.

To much skill/ability analysis
Revisado: 02-28-25
I think about 1/4 or more of the books is going over skills and which ones to pick. It's getting a bit long winded and is distracting from story progression.

Bit too chaotic.
Revisado: 02-05-23
Multiple POVs are fine and all, but this book adds even more character perspectives. The swaps happen very frequently and across the whole world setting or within the same setting from a different perspective. Makes it hard to follow at times and difficult to really attach to any one character.
This book also did greatly reduct the "main characters" page time.

Historia
Scraps, a gutter child, is sitting in his hiding place in a back alley, waiting for the cold thunderstorm to pass. Suddenly, lightning strikes in front of him, and then a second time. The two lightning bolts become men — two wizards — one from the Red Order, the other from the Blue. The Red Wizard, chanting his curses, throws lightning bolts and fireballs. The Blue Wizard, singing his spells, throws lightning bolts and ice shards.

Basically super wizard fan fic
Revisado: 05-02-22
There is little conflict or real progression here despite the wizard/God getting more stuff. Anything he could want he could make/do with little or no cost. There was a bit about how certain wizards are tainted from using so much "dark" magic.... Then the MC uses dark mind control, memory stealing, slavery magic as one of his go to spells. No mention is made again about how he's using dark magic. Everyone also seems super chill with people being mind controlled, enslaved, or memory wiped all over the place.
It's also a little chauvinistic. Not till the last few minutes do any female characters actually do much or show power. The queen is mainly just a mouth peice for the MC. She is convinced to marry the MC due to him saving her life and doing things for her. Frequent mentions of "how women are".
Overall was a struggle to get though and considering a refund. Soooo many eyerolling moments and "oh of course he can do that" times.

Great world, but more then a bit immature
Revisado: 03-16-22
I have enjoyed most of The Land series along with myrid other LITRPGs. The setting and systems in this one are quite interesting if mirroring The Land a good bit.
My main issues come in with some of the childish dick jokes and other needless gratuity. One chapter spent a good bit of time listing every name for the male member the author could think of it seems. Some of the gore is also a bit over the top in a similar way to The Land: Monsters.
The narrator is great for the most part! However his system voices always seem out of place and slow. Seems like he's trying to make the system menacing like a batman dark wizard or something.
Aleron also does a good bit of what he's famous for, cliffhangers. Most chapters and the end of the book leave on a cliffhanger. The end of the book even talks about all the notifications and things earned in the last battle.... Then specifically says he's not going to look at them. It gets tiring and don't know if I will be able to continue any of his series.

Historia
The Academy of Chaenbalu has stood against magic for centuries. Hidden from the world, acting from the shadows, it trains its students to detect and retrieve magic artifacts, which it jealously guards from the misuse of others. Because magic is dangerous: Something that heals can also harm, and a power that aids one person may destroy another. Of the academy’s many students, only the most skilled can become Avatars - warrior thieves, capable of infiltrating the most heavily guarded vaults - and only the most determined can be trusted to resist the lure of magic.

Young male rebels for pretty girl
Revisado: 06-16-21
And so all problems, deaths, and just about everything that happened in the book stems from that. Follows your standard tropes for adolescent prophecy kid coming of age. Can't have the people who know about it hang around or be listened to since that would solve most problems.
Overall was an OK read, just couldn't get to deep into it having listened to the same basic story to many times. The names also seemed all over the place in terms of complexity, couldn't keep track of so many different gutteral names.

Historia
Raze is "just" a lowly Gearblin chained to the quest-giver desk at the worst (and only) arcade in town. And that’s a problem for her. It means that she’s a Non-Participating Citizen, someone who can’t see her stats nor make opposed rolls against Heroes. It’s why her life’s worth less than the vendor trash she doles out. The old-timers swear it didn’t used to be like this; their issues only began once RNGesus went AFK a thousand years ago, leaving the questionably blessed Heroes to conquer everything without consequence.

A lot of talk about looks and body parts has me slightly concerned for the future of the series. Economy also didn't make a lot of sense using just gold and no silver/copper. Buy new leather armor for 6gp, and a single mug of ale for 2gp?
