Historia
In a sprawling mansion filled with peculiar treasures, January Scaller is a curiosity herself. As the ward of the wealthy Mr. Locke, she feels little different from the artifacts that decorate the halls: carefully maintained, largely ignored, and utterly out of place. Then she finds a strange book. A book that carries the scent of other worlds and tells a tale of secret doors, of love, adventure, and danger. Each page turn reveals impossible truths about the world, and January discovers a story increasingly entwined with her own.

Beautiful Story and Performance
Revisado: 07-08-24
What a beautiful book. The narration gave it so many levels. These characters that believe in love and adventure and don’t stop searching for it. Sometimes there are casualties to these things but that in itself created the most interesting character of all. Struggle does not have to hold us down. Ultimately it is a love of words and finding someone to share them with. I highly recommend.

Historia
Benedict Sorellin-Lancaster hasn't even broken in his lieutenant's insignia when he's summoned to meet with the Spirearch of Spire Albion himself for a very special—and very secret—purpose. The Spirearch needs Benedict to retrieve a bag he's "misplaced" on the Colony Spire known as Dependence, which has strangely cut off all contact with the outside world. It's a delicate mission at best, a potential bloodbath at worst. To this end, the Spirearch has supplied Benedict with backup in the form of three Warriorborn.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Great Sci-Fi read
Revisado: 05-16-23
There are moments when things slog along with science talk but all in all this is a great read. I love watching the growing relationship between Grace and Rocky. Recommend to SciFi fans.

Historia
Zachary Quinto - best known for his role as the Nimoy-approved Spock in the recent Star Trek reboot and the menacing, power-stealing serial killer, Sylar, in Heroes - brings his well-earned sci-fi credentials and simmering intensity to this audio-exclusive novella from master storyteller John Scalzi. One day, not long from now, it becomes almost impossible to murder anyone - 999 times out of a thousand, anyone who is intentionally killed comes back. How? We don't know.

Great read!
Revisado: 05-20-21
Ryan has started a story I want to read the end of. It starts with special forces action and character introduction and ends as an epic fantasy story. I care about the characters, and not just the main ones (I'm looking at you, Ainu sister).
I did not anticipate the major twists. I enjoyed the stakes being ratcheted up as the story progressed. I cackled at the humor interjected throughout.
Highly recommended read!

Historia
Brutha is the Chosen One. His god has spoken to him, admittedly while currently in the shape of a tortoise. Brutha is a simple lad. He can't read. He can't write. He's pretty good at growing melons. And his wants are few. He wants to overthrow a huge and corrupt church. He wants to prevent a horribly holy war.

Clever and hilarious
Revisado: 11-13-15
I laughed until I cried with this one. The narrator brought new dimension to the characters that I don't think I could have gotten by reading on my own. His accents and character interpretations were spot on. Plus the book itself is brilliant. It is comedic satire at its best. When Terry Pratchet gets it right, he gets it right. Do yourself a favor and don't skip this!
