The characters, humor, plot lines and narration in this series are a landmark in the genre. I know for years to come I will look back on this series as one of my favorites.

I enjoyed Minkala, even if the fourth floor was a bit tedious - but adding all of the random perspectives and death scenes just added filler to the book. If these “other powers” are going to be relevant in the coming war then I suppose it’s good to see where they came from - but if the result is I don’t get to hear the protagonists full delve until the next book, I feel a bit robbed.
Let’s hope the next one finishes that plot line.
