Historia
In this delightful, acclaimed bestseller, one of the world’s leading cognitive scientists tackles the workings of the human mind. What makes us rational—and why are we so often irrational? How do we see in three dimensions? What makes us happy, afraid, angry, disgusted, or sexually aroused? Why do we fall in love? And how do we grapple with the imponderables of morality, religion, and consciousness?

What a disappointment.

Unnecessarily long. Some chapters seem to not belong in this book.
I wish the author would not go off the main subject so much.

No mention to the possibility of the collapse of the monetary system.
Revisado: 01-10-24
This is just another book that tells the obvious, the world is on the wrong path. It doesn't matter how bad things get, the author doesn't have the balls to even mention the possibility of the collapse of the monetary system. We can die in a thousand different ways but let's not talk about the end of the monetary system, that's a bit too much.

Historia
Most books about the history of humanity pursue either a historical or a biological approach, but Dr. Yuval Noah Harari breaks the mold with this highly original book. From examining the role evolving humans have played in the global ecosystem to charting the rise of empires, Sapiens integrates history and science to reconsider accepted narratives, connect past developments with contemporary concerns, and examine specific events within the context of larger ideas.

For Harris, honest conversation, no matter how difficult or controversial, represents the only path to moral and intellectual progress. This audiobook includes talks with Daniel Kahneman, Timothy Snyder, Nick Bostrom, and Glen Loury, on topics that range from the nature of consciousness and free will, to politics and extremism, to living ethically.

Historia
From mechanical looms to the combustion engine to the first computers, new technologies have always provoked panic about workers being replaced by machines. For centuries, such fears have been misplaced, and many economists maintain that they remain so today. But as Daniel Susskind demonstrates, this time really is different. Breakthroughs in artificial intelligence mean that all kinds of jobs are increasingly at risk.

Historia
The Evolution of Everything is about bottom-up order and its enemy, the top-down twitch - the endless fascination human beings have with design rather than evolution, with direction rather than emergence. Drawing on anecdotes from science, economics, history, politics, and philosophy, Matt Ridley's wide-ranging, highly opinionated opus demolishes conventional assumptions that major scientific and social imperatives are dictated by those on high.

This is not about evolution.
Revisado: 12-01-21
Let's be honest here. This book is not about evolution, yes it talks about evolution in many areas but it's clear to me that this is a bunch of biased ideas carefully picked to promote free market capitalism. The analysis of money falls short and doesn't even consider the possibility of money becoming irrelevant because of evolution itself.
Since the author clearly pushes the idea that the free market will fix everything, he should at least show how it will create enough jobs to prevent the collapse of the money system.
That being said, I do recommend the book as entertainment.
