Historia
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

what a fabulous book! well written, well read, very interesting to get a glimpse into a different culture and environment. Very entertaining and inspiring. Where you start does not need to be where you end.

Historia
New York City. The hustle and bustle. The people and the excitement. It's all Lily Denton dreams about. But ever since her mother died, her overprotective father won't ease up on her. So she spends her days working at the library and her nights hoping life doesn't pass her by...until the Fall Festival. As tourists fill the streets, the crisp autumn air sneaks in - as does the thrill of a far more dangerous kind.

love Dorothy Garlock but…
Revisado: 09-14-22
I have always liked almost all of Dorothy Garlocks work and I was really excited to get this latest book. But I could not bare the narrators voice. So whiny and couldn’t like the characters because of the cartoonish voices she gave them. I’ll let it sit for a few weeks then go back to it to see if i can stick out any more.

Historia
Woods had his perfect life mapped out for him. Rise up the ranks of the family business. Marry the rich girl of his parents’ dreams. Pretend that wealth and privilege was all he’d ever wanted. Then a girl named Della breezed into town, a beautifully imperfect stranger who captured his heart and opened his eyes to a new kind of future. Woods is ready and willing to sacrifice everything for her when the sudden death of his father leaves him with his mother to care for and a business to manage.

so slow; dual narration irritating
Revisado: 06-09-14
What disappointed you about Simple Perfection?
characters not built very well in advance. If you haven't read previous books in series you might be totally lost in beginning.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
Narration was too choppy - going from female to male voice; it was hard to envision characters the same way from chapter to chapter

Historia
Set in boisterous, rebellious Boston on the eve of the American Revolution, Blindspot ingeniously weaves together the fictional stories of Stewart Jameson, a Scottish portrait painter and notorious libertine, and Fanny Easton, a fallen woman from one of Boston's most powerful families who disguises herself as a boy to become Jameson's defiant and seductive apprentice. Together with an African-born doctor, they investigate the death of the famous revolutionary leader Samuel Bradstreet.

BRILLIANT - surprising story
Revisado: 12-10-12
Would you consider the audio edition of Blindspot to be better than the print version?
yes - without the accent and humor of John Lee the story just wouldn't be the same.
What did you like best about this story?
The surprising love story
What does John Lee and Cassandra Campbell bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
John Lee has a scottish(?) brogue that adds so much to his character, he reads the story as if it was actually happening at that moment. His accent draws you in and you can literally feel the passion building between the characters.
Any additional comments?
This has become one of my favorite books to listen to.
