Historia
In 1967, not long after the Six-Day War, three young Arab men ventured into the town of Ramle, in what is now Jewish Israel. They were cousins, on a pilgrimage to see their childhood homes; their families had been driven out of Palestine nearly 20 years earlier. One cousin had a door slammed in his face, and another found his old house had been converted into a school. But the third, Bashir Al-Khairi, was met at the door by a young woman called Dalia, who invited them in.

A real life account that reads like a novel.
Revisado: 01-29-18
Tolan reduces the essence of the Jewish -Palestinian conflict to it lowest common denominator -- personal longing for rootednes. He demonstrates that there is no short or easy route to peace in the Middle East, but it is possible through continual dialogue pressing to see the other as your brother, sister.

Historia
As a species, humans are genetically-programmed to rely on subconscious, physical cues to determine who we can trust and who we should avoid. These cues include: eye contact, facial expressions, vocal intonation, and body language. Blog posts and other written content don't convey these cues. Neither do podcasts or other forms of audio. Video is the only medium that offers our prospective clients and customers a direct view into our human side. And when our videos are hosted online, they go to work for us 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

Delivers on its promise
Revisado: 08-08-17
The author delivered on the promise in the title. I was surprised that Camstudio was not on his list of screen share software. It is freeware that is well supported with YouTube tutorials. The author as narrator created better connection with the material. The quality of the narration was demonstrated his authority on the subject.

Historia
Since taking over TED in the early 2000s, Chris Anderson has shown how carefully crafted short talks can be the key to unlocking empathy, stirring excitement, spreading knowledge, and promoting a shared dream. Done right, a talk can electrify a room and transform an audience's worldview. Done right, a talk is more powerful than anything in written form.

This was very helpful and moved nicely until the last couple chapters about the author's history with TED & TED's history. Those sections were slow and plodding.

Historia
In this hope-filled book, Nouwen offers a fresh interpretation of modern ministry. Here he offers inspiration to men and women who want to be of service in their Church or community but who have found the traditional ways of ministry alienating and ineffective. According to Nouwen, "the minister is called to recognize the sufferings of his time in his own heart and make that recognition the starting point of his service."

Should be read by every Ministers
Revisado: 10-21-16
Nouwen's commentary on the human context, condition, and cure is a relevant today, perhaps even more so, as when it was first written. Audible version well read and easy to listen to.

Historia
The real world doesn't look favorably upon beginners. Young leaders who are given the opportunity to excel are, more often than not, simultaneously reminded by the same ol' cynics just how young and inexperienced they are; just how large of a road they have ahead of them. If you can relate to this experience in any way then you are exactly the person I had in mind while writing this book.
