Historia
When Margaret and her husband Hal bought the large Victorian house on Hawthorn Street—for sale at a surprisingly reasonable price—they couldn’t believe they finally had a home of their own. Then they discovered the hauntings. Every September, the walls drip blood. The ghosts of former inhabitants appear, and all of them are terrified of something that lurks in the basement. Most people would flee. Margaret is not most people. Margaret is staying.

Very predictable and boring
Revisado: 01-30-24
This book was so predictable from beginning to end. It was a slog through it to get to the end I knew was coming since chapter 4. I wouldn’t recommend this book

Historia
Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

Would make a great movie...not so great as a book
Revisado: 11-14-22
The description of intriguing sights and characters in this book would make a great movie but the book drags and drags. It takes 10 chapters for the guy to decide to move towards a pathway. That piece would take 10 minutes in a movie and make this a much better story! I read every Stephen King and this wasn't my favorite.

Fantastic and funny

I greatly enjoyed this book as my daughter is studying to enter this field. The real-life descriptions and the author's humor make this an enjoyable listen.

Just boring
Revisado: 07-28-16
What disappointed you about Adventures in Human Being?
The whole story seemed like it would be great but I was bored by everything. The narrator drones on and on. The subject matter is like reading a text book. The reviews really let me down. I'm a total science geek (Chemistry and Biology degrees) and thought it would be interesting. Sorry I got this...

Great Story, makes me want to book a safari
Revisado: 06-10-13
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
This story was light and entertaining. I truly enjoyed and I want to buy the book as well.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
The performance is horrible. If you can forget that the reader pauses at the end of every sentence and speaks in a fake accent, get this anyway.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
The story made me laugh and cry. It was wonderful!
