Historia
In this stirring audiobook, David McCullough tells the intensely human story of those who marched with General George Washington in the year of the Declaration of Independence, when the whole American cause was riding on their success, without which all hope for independence would have been dashed and the noble ideals of the Declaration would have amounted to little more than words on paper.

A little much politics. This is a tiny minor complaint. The reading was excellent. It flowed very well. I would recommend it.

Historia
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Utterly, mind dumbingly boring.
Revisado: 01-10-23
It was not that interesting and I had wanted it to be great. It did have a few explosive statements for sure, but the period in between those was really slow and a struggle to get through. His childhood recollections went on for way too long. I kept thinking to myself, that's fine what you did in school, but could we move it along to when you were an adult now? I wish he could have just touched briefly upon the time he was a child and his school days and got to the heart of other things. The storyline dragged on for too long and should have been cut in half.

Not enjoyable, painful to listen to.
Revisado: 09-04-22
I love Simon St James which makes this review so hard. The two lead characters were dull and shallow. As much as I tried I couldn't find anything to make them likeable. There are few things more boring than dialog between teenagers and/or children and there was far too much of it in this book. Was this supposed to be a young adult novel? I got so tired of the teenage twang in their voices and language. This is a usually excellent author. This story is such a departure from her usual style.

I kept hoping it would get better. It started with promise. Halfthrough I became to dislike the characters because they were so cliche and not in a good way. By the last chapter, I was annoyed for wasting a perfectly good audible credit.

Revisado: 03-26-21
I don't normally take the time to write out a full review. This book was excellent, a true masterpiece. It is a story written about a caring, deep friendship between two people who took an realistic look at whatever came their way and dealt with it using honesty, intelligence and humor. May all of us be blessed with a friend like this.

This is the story of James Leininger, who---a little more than two weeks after his second birthday---began having blood-curdling nightmares that just would not stop. When James began screaming out recurring phrases like "Plane on fire! Little man can't get out!" the Leiningers finally admitted that they truly had to take notice.

Paint Drying would be more Exciting
Revisado: 03-10-21
The concept of this book is intriguing. However the book is weighed down by meaningless details of mundane clutter. They should have cut the story in half and gotten to the meat of it. No organized thought found here. Ita poorly written.
Truly, the reader didn't need to know this much information about every detail of Andrea's life. Do we really need to know about house decorating, trips to the hairdresser, housecleaning practices and inside a bizarre deal between a husband and wife? There is too much information about Andrea, what she thought, felt, liked disliked, etc. James is nothing more than a side note instead of the main topic.
I kept thinking, ok, now we will get to the story right? But no, it never did. The story is not convincing. Its like click bate where a something catches your eye but when you click in it, the story has been expanded with so many ads after 5 minute you give up and loose interest in the story because they don't get to the point. This book is just like that.
