Not creepy. Not a thriller

I thought the beginning of the book was very interesting! I wanted to know more about the families that had lived in the house previously!
I liked Ewan’s part of the book a lot better than Maggie’s. I felt really bored with Maggie’s story. I guess I was expecting to be scared or freaked out while I read, and not once was I!
In both POV’s there was a lot of repeating and it started really annoying me!! How many times did I have to read about the damn chandelier being on and the person knew they had not turned it on! 🤦🏻♀️ how many times did I have to read that Maggie knew her dad was a liar and she was disappointed and this book ruined her life!! I get it!!! I really hate when authors are so repetitive!!
The last two chapters were not good. I was very disappointed and pretty confused.

This was a big disappointment. 12 hours of audio I wish I could have used for a better story!!
There were so many characters and points of views, and I had to keep trying to remember who she was talking about!
Reading the summary, I had a very different idea of what this book was going to be. I feel like I am being very generous to give it 2 stars!! 🤦🏻♀️

I was super disappointed in this book! It was so long and all over the place! I didn’t connect with any of the characters, there was nothing that pulled me in! I kept reading only because it had good reviews and I kept thinking something would change and it would get better…it did not. Then the ending…so dumb! I would not waste my time with this book!

I’m an outlier

This books is extremely slow!!!
I know it is fiction, but there are too many situations that are so unrealistic!! I won’t go into detail because I don’t want to give any spoilers.
For me, the writing was too detailed I felt like it was unnecessary information; it seemed the the author was trying to get his pages in and 261 chapters!! Yes 261 chapters!! He could have easily cut this in half!
Like I said in my title, I’m an outlier because so many people have loved this book. It was just not for me at all!
