Historia
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

Didn't know what to expect...
Revisado: 08-27-12
What was most disappointing about Peter Clines’s story?
I would have loved this book had I know it was Sci-Fi going into it. I really enjoyed the publishers summery and the reviews I read ahead of time so I was hopeful I would enjoy the book. I felt a little duped. My own fault ~ I maybe should have researched further before listening.
What about Ray Porter’s performance did you like?
Love this narrator ~ he does a wonderful job!
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from 14?
None ~ it was a good book for Sci-Fi.

Historia
Determined to find out what happened to her former deputy chief, Jack Fielding, murdered six months earlier, Kay Scarpetta travels to the Georgia Prison for Women, where an inmate has information not only on Fielding, but also on a string of grisly killings. The murder of an Atlanta family years ago, a young woman on death row, and the inexplicable deaths of homeless people as far away as California seem unrelated. But Scarpetta discovers connections that compel her to conclude that what she thought ended with Fielding's death and an attempt on her own life is only the beginning....

Scarpetta is back!!
Revisado: 01-09-12
Red Mist reminded me of the first books in the series and why I love these characters! The last 3 books have been a little too technical and procedural. Loved how the story unfolded. Just how I want Scarpetta to be!
Kate Burton is ok as the narrator, but Kate Reading is Scarpetta to me and NO one does Marino better!

Before Stephanie can even step foot off Flight 127, Hawaii to Newark, she’s knee deep in trouble. Her dream vacation turned into a nightmare, and she’s flying back to New Jersey solo. Worse still, her seatmate never returned to the plane after the L.A. layover. Now he’s dead, in a garbage can, waiting for curbside pickup. His killer could be anyone. And a ragtag collection of thugs and psychos, not to mention the FBI, are all looking for a photograph the dead man was supposed to be carrying.

I have really enjoyed this series. Explosive Eighteen is better that the last 4 books I would say. I still think Lorelei King is a terrible narrator for this series!! CJ Critt was the perfect voice for all these characters.

Such high hopes......
Revisado: 10-08-11
Envy by Sandra Brown is one of my favorite books of all time!! So cleaver and descriptive! I fell in love with Parker Evans from the beginning and didn't figure anything out until it was revealed to me! Chill factor is a close 2nd favorite book. From there it has been downhill for me with Sandra Brown. She tries, but nothing has come close for me since Envy and Chill Factor. This story was unbelievable and I couldn't wait for it to be over! I did enjoy Victor Slezak however, because he is also the narrator for Envy, but not enough that I will ever listen to this again.

Historia
The thrilling new Virgil Flowers novel from the #1 New York Times best-selling author. The superstore chain PyeMart has its sights set on a Minnesota river town, but two very angry groups want to stop it: local merchants, fearing for their businesses, and environmentalists, predicting ecological disaster. The protests don't seem to be slowing the project, though, until someone decides to take matters into his own hands.

Not the best Virgil ~ but it is still Virgil!
Revisado: 10-08-11
I am bias! John Sandford is my favorite author and he hit it out of the park in May with his latest Lucas Davenport, Buried Prey. I will forgive him this Virgil Flowers. I still enjoyed every minute of this book, but it wasn't as good as the others in the series. He is such a talented writer and so detailed, it was still a great story!

Historia
A house demolition provides an unpleasant surprise for Minneapolis - the bodies of two girls, wrapped in plastic. It looks like they've been there a long time. Lucas Davenport knows exactly how long.In 1985, Davenport was a young cop with a reputation for recklessness, and the girls' disappearance was a big deal. His bosses ultimately declared the case closed, but he never agreed with that. Now that he has a chance to investigate it all over again, one thing is becoming increasingly clear: It wasn't just the bodies that were buried. It was the truth.

Entertaining Series
Revisado: 12-03-10
I was so pleased to come across this series. It does remind me of the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. If you enjoy it you should also check out the Sophie Katz series by Kyra Davis and the Body Movers series by Stephanie Bond. Many great hours of entertainment.
I do agree with other reviewers in their assessment of the narrator~ I have heard much better, but if you can get past her the book is really enjoyable. I look forward to listening to the entire series.

Historia
In a wealthy Minneapolis neighborhood, two elderly women are bludgeoned to death. They are apparent victims of a random robbery, though nothing of value appears to have been stolen. But when Lucas Davenport looks deeper, he fears that the victims weren’t so random, and the items stolen were far from invaluable. As a pattern emerges it leads Lucas to...certainly not where he expected. Which is too bad, because the killers are expecting him. And that’s only the first surprise.
