I was a but nervous going in because slow burn second chance give me anxiety especially with topics around addiction, death of a loved one etc.

But this was so beautiful paced, and even at their most broken you can tell they were each other’s soulmates. My only gripe is I wish we got kore time with them as a couple. But otherwise an amazing listen, so worth the credit. Teddy and Aaron did amazing as always.

Teddy Hamilton and Joe Arden deserve an award for their ability to get me to stick through this train-wreck of a story - if this book didn’t have the amazing narrators it did I would’ve DNF’d.

Putting aside the fact that I’m like 99.9% sure this author doesn’t know anything about hockey as one chapter references the fame being in the fourth period. There is only 3 in Hockey.

The story is choppy, a-lot of stuff happens that doesn’t make sense. It feels like there were plot point that were thrown in for the shock factor. Some stuff never gets properly addressed specially regarding Max and Quinn or Max and his parents. The overall wrap up of the story is severely lacking as well and really doesn’t make sense.

This is all before touch the dialogue which is really inconsistent and cringey at time, multiple times I had to pause and compose myself.

All in all, I would skip unless you really just love these narrators and want to listen to them haha

I’ve more or less listened to every MM book Teddy has done, I swear could listen to him narrate a soup can. When this audio dropped, despite not having prior interest in this series; I binge read them all just to listen to this one. And as expected Teddy (as well as Aiden) did not disappoint. This is my second time listening to them do dual narration and honestly they’re a well suited team!

Plot wise the story is fine, I wish there was a little more drama but alas it is what it is. The majority of the story is very push and pull with the whole “we shouldn’t do this but i can’t stop” thing not to mention it really puts the slow in slow burn. I do have to say — the pacing and general plot set up of this one is very similar to Burning the Midnight Oil (Book 3). But I honestly liked this one better. And overall, thus far I would rank this as my second favorite behind Dirt Road Secrets.

As a side note: it was also nice getting to know Conrad a bit more in this book. With all the set up throughout the series for his and Whit’s book, I’ve grown very excited for it.

Despite the fact that these two both had a lot of issues/baggage the story is pretty low angst. With lots of funny banter and flirting.

The primary conflict seemed alittle silly and I wish they would have been able to work through it without everyone else butting in, but it didn’t impact my enjoyment all that much!

I also totally wish we could’ve gotten more satisfactory closure with Evan’s ex but it is what it is.

Overall a good listen! Teddy and Aiden did amazing as expected from two of my favorite narrators ❤️

Despite what the authors says, I wouldn’t recommend reading this unless you’ve read the Walsh series. You’ll likely just end up annoyed at the abundance of side characters not to mention their shitty attitudes like I did.

Love Jacob and Teddy; they’re great as always and really the only reason this purchase didn’t feel like a complete waste.

I found myself here because of Iggy and Teddy. They are too of my favorite narrators and I can honestly say if it wasn’t for them I don’t think I would have made it through.

This is a bit of a long listen and the events of the book feel highly repetitive. We as reader cycle again and again through the same conversations and interactions with Jase and Raine for probably 75% of the book. And right as the climax really starts to take off, it felt like all of it happened off page. Like somewhere in the last few chapters Raine is just like “oh, yeah remember all that bad stuff going on in the background? its all over now” and your just like “uhhhhhh what?!” We got no payoff?! Also justice for Jase! Without getting into details you basically find out in the second to last chapter that everything he was doing/working towards, everything he was suffering for, throughout literally the entire book ultimately results in failure. Which was a sucker-punch to the gut and then to top it off it is ultimately glossed over as well among everything else.

I’m honestly kind of mad.

Toma’s narration is great and this couple is so lovable. Harley’s book was good but this one was better in my opinion.

I love that sweet boy! This is a very slow burn and honestly a realistic (but happy) ending! I feel in love with these two, I wish got more tome both them as a couple at the end but it was good nonetheless.

Teddy is one of my favorites, I listen to basically all of his MM projects; throw in Jacob? I was bound to enjoy this.

Honestly this is a beach day listening through and through, it’s not a groundbreaking story. But it spoke to the hopeless romantic in me, and I found myself giddy through out listening to it.

Definitely give it a shot!
