Historia
Fyodor Dostoyevsky is a titanic figure among the world's great authors, and The Brothers Karamazov is often hailed as his finest novel. A masterpiece on many levels, it transcends the boundaries of a gripping murder mystery to become a moving account of the battle between love and hate, faith and despair, compassion and cruelty, good and evil.

Noble Story that was too long
Revisado: 02-27-24
The story was good but could have been told in 300 pages. The action parts were great, the monologues were torture. I liked hearing about Stinking Lizaveta and Father Zesima. Their stories were better than the story of the Brothers. Plus, no monologues in them. I found many of the characters to be caricatures. The women were so weird. They kept getting emotional and making themselves bed ridden. Also, Dimitri didn't seem realistic either. He seemed like a crazy guy who always said things to make him seem more guilty...that is until the trial when he seemed much smarter and better at speaking. Anyway, I'm glad I read it because all of the smart people like this book. I have to say though, why?

Historia
Cameron Winter was born with the ability to recreate detailed crime scenes in his imagination and dissect the motives and encounters that produced them. And after reading a puzzling news story about a wealthy family killed in a small town in the Chicago suburbs, he can't resist the chance to apply this deductive power in the pursuit of justice for the victims. Three members of the family, along with their live-in nanny, were pulled from their burning mansion, already dead from gunshot wounds. The only survivor is a young boy whose memory of the event raises more questions than answers.

Historia
A fascinating account of the world’s most famous disease - polio - told as you have never heard it before. Epidemics of paralysis began to rage in the early 1900s, seemingly out of nowhere. Doctors, parents, and health officials were at a loss to explain why this formerly unheard-of disease began paralyzing so many children. Why did this disease start to become such a horrible problem during the late 1800s? Why did it affect children more often than adults? Why was it originally called teething paralysis by mothers and their doctors?

The Uncanny is the story of Richard Storm, a producer of horror movies. He comes to England searching for the real counterpart of the ghosts that have made him rich. At a party he reads aloud the classic British ghost story which inspired his Hollywood career, and suddenly, uncannily, starts a chain of actions that literally brings to life his first horror movie.

A fun and somewhat spooky story where stories and real life intermingle. It was clearly an allegory about abortion as well.

Historia
Having survived the Nightmare Feast, Austin Lively is living the dream. He has returned to Hollywood and his movie career is in full swing. His new script, Another Kingdom, has been unexpectedly purchased by a top producer at an enormous price. Beautiful women flock to his bed, movie stars court his attention, and the powers-that-be are predicting stardom. His only problems: a recurring vision of a magical landscape he can’t quite remember, and a giant mouse who seems to be following him - a giant mouse with a woman’s face.

Exciting and Super Poingent for Our Times
Revisado: 04-19-21
This book was such a joy to consume. It gives hope to the reader. Austin keeps getting into desparate situations, but somehow has hope and keeps fighting and truth wins out. My favorite line in this book was a quote that Maude told Austin, " Despair is an illusion. The battle is already won." I think it was that. Since it is audio, I can't remember it exactly. But anyway, this book gives the reader hope as well. When the world looks like everyone has a slug like demon sucking on their neck and good can never win, somehow, "Wisdom will reign." The Good has already won the war, even when it doesn't look like it during the battle.
