MJ as told from the white insiders perspective
Revisado: 10-22-23
If you are looking for a story that tells MJs story through a white music industry insiders perspective and doesn't really acknowledge racism or how racism played a large part in MJs life and his brand and influenced a lot of decisions he did (or did not) make...and you don't mind time warping around as its not told in chronological order....and you don't mind the fact MJs manager threatened the life of someone where he currently is employed and all the bias that brings into the story, this book is decent. As long as you know that there's a lot of racial bias and industry bias here you should be fine. There are some inaccuracies. Sometimes there are things I never heard before and I am unsure where the info came from. The thing I struggled most with that irritated me the most was the inability to acknowledge race in the situation, and that he had to deal with not triggering white peoples white fragility to survive. I feel like racial persecution was a huge part of Michael Jackson's demise, and that isn't even touched on. In fact, his demise is just kind of a blip in the book. This is more so a book about his entire life, but told from the perspective, white industry person. Which I think doesn't bring into focus the reason he was so traumatized and hurt. It feels like it's not told from a compassionate perspective from someone who could truly empathize with him so it's a story about him but it feels detached from his experience and perspective.

This dude tried to make pimping into the Iliad
Revisado: 08-22-23
I read that Andrew Tate used this book to do horrible things to women. I decided to get it so I understood his perspective.
This 'ish is whack. It is the absolute corniest drivel I've ever read in my life. Even worse when there is a perfect set up to drop a rhyme, he misses the mark.
The guy will not stop trying to make everything into a rhyme. It was annoying and then it got funny.
Just a mental image that he can walk up to a woman and rhyme at her, and then she decides to make him her pimp? Honestly, you can't tell me that genuinely works because I would laugh in a man's face if he said that DR. SEUSS level rhyme crap to me.
The book features many logical fallacies and cognitive distortions to make slave ownership not look like it's betraying every aspect of generational trauma his ancestors endured. The cognitive distortions and mental gymnastics to justify the behavior is astounding.
I would 10/10 stars recommend this book because the rhymes are hilarious. The missed rhymes are hilarious. Every woman should read this book and every other book every misogynistic jerk reads in order to understand what they do to manipulate us.
Without all the hype, this dude just sounds like a cheap old man and domestic abuser. Seriously, it's a guy without a job who forces women to work and pay him money so he cannot have a job. And then he calls it a job...it's mystifying.
Owning people is not OK. it's very clear that a lot of diversifying and slang needed to happen to make Ken's "game" look like it didn't come straight from a white man and slaveowner.
I challenge you when you get this book (because I definitely want you to read it for education reasons) replace every time you hear the word "ho" or "b word" with the "n word" (hard "R".) Then I want you to replace the word "track" or "the streets" with "the plantation".
Then I want you to replace every time the word "Pimp" appears with "slave master", "slave owner" or "white man".
Then, as a person of color, I want you to come talk to me about how that feels.
People like Ken should know better than to find this okay. :)

Its a good book and I have listened several times.
Revisado: 04-05-23
I think overall it is a great book, and like the others, I am a little jarred by the phrase of comparing what Ted Bundy did to his victims as "making love". Psychopaths do not have the capacity for love.
Also, love and attraction have little to do with rape. What he was doing to them should be classified and referred to as aggravated sexual assault. I know it may make talking about something like that really disturbing but its important to not associate it with a healthy and intimate part of a loving relationship.
Otherwise, great book. There are some times when a wrong word is used, but it hardly takes precedence over the depth and complexity of this book. I really appreciate it, thank you!

What are positive affirmations? An affirmation is anything that you think or say. This means that even your negative thoughts and words are affirmations. People have become used to thinking negatively, thus resulting in negative experiences and situations. It is important to retrain the mind to think only of good and positive things, so that only positive would also come out of the mouth. This is how you will change your life.

I feel like this book will get me arrested, but...
Revisado: 06-01-19
And simultaneously unarrested.
I learned so many new useful things about staying safe in this book...and some things--I didn't want to know.
Great work. Enjoyed it. Will be reading more from Clint. I enjoyed how straight forward and direct the book is. No BS is the only way to go.
Not a fan of teaching people how to make bombs, but next book, please teach people how to catch people who make them...or scan an environment or read people for potential threats, and such. Also, I would like to hear more about the Danish Veterinarian thing.
