Historia
Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is summoned to deliver an evening lecture in the U.S. Capitol. Within minutes of his arrival, the night takes a bizarre turn. A disturbing object is discovered in the Capitol Building. The object is an ancient invitation, meant to usher its recipient into a long-lost world of hidden esoteric wisdom. And when Langdon's mentor is kidnapped, Langdon's only hope of saving him is to accept this invitation and follow wherever it leads him.

Kept me listening
Revisado: 09-29-09
This book kept me listening. It was very entertaining. All those negative reviewers need to get a grip. This is not intended as great literature, just a good book. I do agree that the last two hours were a little long and preachy but, then, there's nothing wrong with contemplating someone else's thoughts and ideas.
As for the comments about the narration - I listen to a lot of books. The narration was very good in my opinion. All in all I recommend the book and await his next one.

New York City medical examiners Laurie Montgomery and Jack Stapleton return in this stunning novel from the “master of the medical thriller” (New York Times)—a ripped-from-the-headlines tale of an innovative doctor’s dangerous downward spiral.

Historia
Devilishly clever, Next blends fact and fiction into a breathless tale of a new world where nothing is what it seems, and a set of new possibilities can open at every turn. Next challenges our sense of reality and notions of morality. Balancing the comic and bizarre with the genuinely frightening and disturbing, Next shatters our assumptions and reveals shocking new choices where we least expect.

Boring, preachy. I think there was a plot in there somewhere.

Historia
Milan, 1497: Leonardo is completing "The Last Supper". Pope Alexander VI is determined to execute him after realizing that the painting contains clues to a baffling and blasphemous message that he is driven to decode. The Holy Grail and the Eucharistic Bread are missing, there is no meat on the table, and the apostles, shockingly, are portraits of well-known heretics and none of them are depicted with halos. And why has the artist painted himself into the scene with his back turned toward Jesus?

Mostly boring
Revisado: 04-11-06
I found this book to have only brief moments of interest surrounded by long boring sections.
